Dr. Timothy Bukowski

They are very professional and very nice! I love how they have things for the kids to color while waiting to been seen by the doctor!

We love Dr. Bukowski, very professional, focus and everything at the surgery was fast and we don't have any problems. The Wake-Med people was amazing too.

We came with a hydrocele, but he had found something much worse. He was so good about staying calm and relaying the info to us in a great manner. He definitely is our sons life saver.

Had to look up this info today for a new family practice MD our daughter will be established with today and wanted to comment . Our family will never forget the skill set used so insightfully by Dr. Bukowski 15 years ago to diagnos and surgically restore our then 3 years old daughters very serious urinary track issues . Her heath was restored , her development caught back up in many other delayed areas as a result, and she is now headed in the fall to college to pursue her own degree in the medical field . Thank-You Dr Bukowski and thanks to God for the help and healing our child found.

I took my child to see Dr. Bukowski for a Circumcision and my husband and I were very satisified with the outcome of the procedure. There was a bit of a wait, but it was worth it. I see the only negative comments about this doctor is the wait time, but that's what happens when you wait for the best. Not one review on here talks about bad patient care. This is a great doctor and I highly recommend him.

Wait times are horrendous and completely unacceptable. Waited 1hr and 45minutes for our first appointment. Currently waiting 1hr 10minutes for this appointment and have not yet been called back. 4 people signed in with the same appointment time for the same doctor. Absolutely not ok for a practice that sees small children.

I rarely leave low grade comments but for this practice, I felt it was necessary to do so. I made an appointment with Dr. Bukowsky for an 8:30 time frame on a weekday for my son to get a circumcision. Very basic procedure, not anything special about the circumstances. I arrived early to fill out the paperwork and sat down to wait. The waiting area was very cramp and packed to an uncomfortable level. Around 45 minutes later, I was asked to step into a treatment room where I was told the doctor had 3 patients ahead of me and that he was overbooked today so things are running a bit behind and asked me to wait patiently. At 9:57, I texted my wife to let her know I would be late coming back and I had yet to be seen by the doctor. I was finally seen around 10:15, then was asked to wait in the lobby while they perform the procedure. The procedure took about 20 minutes to do. The doctor was obviously in a hurry to see the next patient, there was little conversation or time for further… questions, of which I had none anyways but I had the feeling if I did - it would be difficult to get his time. The nurse said she wanted to see us back in a week for a post op follow up. On check out, I stood in front of the appointment setter for 4 minutes (yes, I looked at my watch) before she acknowledged that I was there. She was sitting down and writing something and could not be bothered to acknowledge me until she was finished. She asked me what days were good for me to come back and I asked her for the least busiest time of the day since I considered a wait time of an hour and 45 minutes to be unacceptable. The receptionist informed me that Dr. Bukowski is normally this busy and there was no time in which he was not this busy. In response to that, I informed her that I would do the post op follow up with my son's pediatrician and would not be returning to this facility. It would appear to me that Dr. Bukowski needs a partner or needs to take less patients.

My daughter went to Dr. Bukowski as a second opinion and his diagnosis and treatment changed my daughters life. At 12 years old she had lost control of her urine and after 18 months and 2 surgeries at another leading childrens hospital with a expert urologist Dr. Bukowski had the problem diagnosed and reversed within 2 weeks of our initial visit.

My daughter has been seeing Dr. Bukowski since 7 wks old for an ectopic ureter issue that connected improperly to her vaginal wall. He did a ureterostomy at 11 wks for her, and left it for approximately 6 mos. That surgery was followed up with a ureter implantation surgery to connect it to the bladder as expected. The next 6 yrs our daughter continued seeing Dr. Bukowski regularly for recurring kidney infections not resolved by the operations. At every visit we usually waited at least an hour. While this sounds like an annoyance to some, when you get in to see him, and he spends as much time with you as you need to get all your questions answered, you grow to appreciate he's one of the few MD's out there that really cares enough to listen to his patients and their concerns and never tries to rush you out to see the next person. In recent discussions around our daughter's situation, he spent over an hour on the phone with me talking through options we have around resolving her… infections issues. An hour of no-copay related time as he was driving to his child's baseball game and trying to help us make the best decision for our child's care. I can handle a few delayed appts when I know the outcome involves thorough discussions around our baby girl's situation. On Friday, May 14, our daughter (now 6 1/2) had a second ureteral reimplant surgery under Dr. Bukowski's care. On Sunday the MD on call came to release her without examining any part of her issues. He didn't even know her complications and said very abruptly "it's all normal. You can take out the catheter and go home." Well, as any mother who worries would do, I had Dr. B paged, who spoke to both me and the nurse on the floor and decided we should monitor another day or two. He made the trip personally over to see her the following day and examined before discussing our options. He had been in surgery all day that day at UNC and came specifically for us. Then after a few questions we assumed he had left. It turns out 20 minutes later he came back into our room to show me pictures around the questions I asked about her surgery so I could better understand. I was blown away. I would not consider any other pediatric urologist in the state. I am so impressed with Dr. Bukowski and his commitment to his patients.
