Dr. Timothy Lee Byers, MD

Pros: Dr. Byers is a perfectionist in performing surgeries. No worries there as long as you don't have any follow-up issues. He does see his patients early the next morning after surgery, then that's all. My cataract surgery, to-date, appears to have been successful. Cons: 1. Dr. Byers can be quite rude at times and doesn't listen well. He sometimes makes belittling, unprofessional comments directly to patients. He prefers quick in-and-out appointments. 2. He doesn't have an office. He rotates through several rural locations in Utah and Colorado performing surgeries. It is EXTREMELY difficult to get hold of him if any problem arises. He'll be a good provider as long as you don't have any follow-up issues where he needs to be contacted. 3. Comments directly to me from two of his former medical coworkers include: He "doesn't have people skills." and He "can get quite angry." 4. His technician frequently delays returning phone calls from 1 to 2 days. She has made… serious errors. I was scheduled for cataract surgery for my right and left eyes, on different weeks. All paperwork was signed for the right eye, and I was to begin my regimen of pre-op eye drops. Unbeknownst to me, Dr. Byers decided to perform surgery on my left eye first. His technician failed to call me and inform me of that change.
