I would rate it a -1, if that was an option! Was seen last night for major lower back pain and a sudden severe sciatica flareup. The pain was excruciating and all home remedies didn't provide any relief so out of desperation I went to Urgent Care & more. Worst medical care experience in my life! I've been seen for this condition more times than I can count so I have a lot to compare to. First, not once was I even asked to rate my pain on a scale. That's usually the first thing nurses ask. The doctor I saw was Dr. Cannis. The only thing he did during my exam was check my reflexes, told me to push my BIG TOE against his hand and he pushed on my stomach. That's all! He was very unprofessional! He lied and told me he can't give me a muscle relaxer because it can't be taken with a medication I'm on. FYI I'm a nurse and I know better. I've also been prescribed muscle relaxers by many docs while on that medication. So, I know that what he said was untrue. He told me he would prescribe Vicodin… and 600 Mg's of Ibuprofen. He told me not to take 800 Mg's anymore because that's unnecessary!? Then he referred me to a spine specialist. That's all he did! Then while I was waiting for my prescriptions and aftercare instructions he told me that he can't prescribe Vicodin because it can't be taken with the medication I'm on. Another lie! Going back on his first lie he prescribed me a muscle relaxer! Flexeril, the weakest one, of course that isn't helping at all! The best part was I saw him a long time ago for a sports related knee injury and he prescribed me Vicodin and Soma (the strongest muscle relaxer) and I was on the medication he told me can't be taken with muscle relaxers or narcotics! I know the truth to be he just didn't want to prescribe any controlled substance because he assumed I was a drug seeker. I'm 100% sure that's the reason. I'm not a drug seeker but whatever, he can think what he wants. I'm upset because he chose to lie to me and waste my time! I was/am in severe pain and there's many pain relievers he could have prescribed that aren't controlled substances. Lastly, not ONE single home remedy was suggested! Worst doc I've ever seen!!!!
