Dr. Timothy Shannahan Cleary, MD

One appointment so far. He has no regard for patients as I see above. He told us he had 16 minutes. Didn't even look at my husband who was in horrid pain. Just told us he would not say things we like and wouldn't be able to help my husband's pain. A real jerk so to speak. When he left our room his staff, at the VA, laughed and clapped for his performance. And for this my husband had to go for the painful trip to the office and we have to pay for this treatment. Not at all professional in demeanor nor appearance. I hope and pray our next appointment goes better.

Dr Cleary is very thorough and takes the time to explain in detail what he diagnosis and the course of treatment he recommends. He maintains an office staffed by his family and they treat each patient like family.

Things started out fine with Dr. Cleary, but getting refills was often a struggle. The final straw came when he shorted me a weeks worth of my monthly medication. I have yet to understand why! When I called after 3 weeks instead of my normal 4, to refill my prescription, he claimed it was too soon. True, but only because he had shorted me that month. His response after going rounds with him, was that it didn't matter that he'd only given me 3 weeks of my medication instead of 4, it was still too soon because it wasn't the end of the month. I can't stretch 3 weeks of medication into 4 weeks, so I'm looking for a competent Doctor who can perform simple math and knows how to use a calendar. The staff there are very nice however. But Dr. Cleary isn't worth the hassle, and is ALWAYS running way behind!

I need to find a new PCP as my doctor has closed her office. I wanted to follow my wonderful PA to her new place of employment. I called the office. You do not get to speak to a real person but only listen to the usual canned menu. This indicates poor concern and regard for patients. I left a message. 28 hours later and my phone call has not been returned. Another indication of poor regard for patients. This is not a physician I wish to have as my PCP.

Spends lots of time with you (not the usual 10 mins) and most of all listens, then asks questions...

Saw PA who was rude. I complained and then received a termination letter from the practice. This doctor is pro-life.

Dr. C spends lots of time with each patient so you may have a bit of a wait. You can always get all your questions answered and he is very concerned but diplomatic if you don't follow the hard directions about losing weight, lowering cholesterol, etc. ;-) Excellent diagnostician, I would recommend him to anyone.

He asked QUESTIONS. He listened to me. He had me do additional tests for my heart because of my history and he FOLLOWED UP. I liked his candor and will use him until I die. I TRUST him.

i have a difficult time with this dr. office communicating with my pharmacy when i need to get my prescribtions filled. they are not alway reliable requiring multiple phone calls to get an ok for a refill.
