Dr. Durkin was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, while his father was attending dental school; the family moved to the Bay Area when he was four years old. He grew up in Redwood City, California, with six siblings. Dr. Durkin attended the University of California San Diego and the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry, graduating in 1981. He began practicing in Amador County 27 years ago, after 2 years of practice in the Bay Area.
He and his wife, Elizabeth, moved to Pine Grove with three of their children in 1983 and were blessed with another daughter in 1984. They are the proud grandparents of two adorable baby girls (so far). They were drawn to the area by the spectacular mountains and the relaxed lifestyle of a small town.
Although the relaxed lifestyle has gone out the window, the mountains are still spectacular!
