Dr. Timothy Ehrlich, M.D.

My family member was over weight and not obese. He and his staff encourged her to gain(22 lbs) weight so the insurance would pay for the surgery. She was type 2 diabetic about to go on 3 insulin injections daily. No other comorbidities. She was told that her diabetes symptoms would disappear immediately after surgery. The thrill was beyond imagination for her. That was 7 years ago. We will never know if that was the truth because she never came home from the hospital.... During her week long stay he appeared three times once right after the surgery once at the urging of hospital staff and once to sign the death certificate

Would not trust this doctor at all!!

That's basically what this doctor will tell you. Go find another surgeon who doesn't have to sell you things and cares about your health.

While my surgery was completely fine and I am healthy, I was extremely disappointed that I was misled about what my body would look like afterwards. Initially I was told there would be no scarring or sagging skin, but then after the surgery I was told the scars would in fact be visible and I would have sagging skin. I don't know that I would have gone through with the surgery if I was told that up front. Potential patients have told me when they spoke with the Dr., he has made the same claims to them which are completely unfounded. I am very uncomfortable knowing that I was provided false information, especially that now it is too late to do anything about it. Now I am facing the very real possibility of plastic surgery to fix what I thought wouldn't need to be fixed.

If you're looking for a used car Dr E is your man. He will tell you anything to sell you surgery especially if you have great insurance. To be fair he did a great job and everyone is safe. But he stated the scars would be "undetectable" which anyone knows isnt possible. He also refuses any requests for portfolios of previous patients or to recap anything he says in writing. There are a lot of other doctors with much more integrity. I'd wan the honest guy on my side. Again to be fair the scars are small and will heal fine but they won't be undetectable or unnoticeable. I like a doctor who doesn't think I'm an idiot, especially in a field where you have choices and different options.

The entire staff is caring and helpful. All of the Doctors were wonderful and were caring while demonstrating a wonderful sence of humor.

I love Dr. Ehrlich, his staff (probably new since the 2010 review), and the ease of getting insurance approval. He's the best!
