Dr. Fortuna, a long-standing member of the residency program, relocated here for the unique opportunity to help establish and grow a residency program. As the Medical Director of Carilion Clinic's simulation center, he firmly believes in the importance of simulation in medical education. His dedication resulted in a new 10,000 sq ft multidisciplinary stimulation facility, enhancing residents' training and patient care. Dr. Fortuna's research interests encompass team performance, cardiac arrest resuscitation, and physician decision making. Outside of work, he enjoys family time and participating in triathlons.
