Dr. Garvey saved my life he never forgets I never let him ! He’s always thorough when talking about what’s going o and he knows if I make an appointment there is a real problem with me 14 surgeries later and 32 years I am still walking and referring him to people. He is straight up honest and always has a map of how things will go thank you Dr. Garvey I don’t know how my life would have been had you not danced into the life flight as I came in it with positivity when it was to be the worst a relationship I can say will go on forever thank yous from my family his years to come ! Dr Garvey has been my neurosurgeon for 31 years almost 32 years. I would not have walked again if it was not for his knowledge he knows me as a person and a patient and always makes the right call and knows his stuff he’s very professional and when I call he is prepared for my appt before I get there and I will always and will be forever grateful for the life I was able to have post accident due to the spinal injury and break I normally would not have had. Very recommended DR and I have sent many to him through the years.

I was in severe pain due to a an L4-L5 pinched nerve. My first consultation was with Dr. Garvey‘s Physician Assistant. The PA, office workers at the front desk and his RN were all very friendly and extremely helpful. After all other alternatives were tried Dr. Garvey recommended a surgical procedure. The surgical procedure was at Abbott Northwestern Hospital. The hospital staff was caring and knowledgeable. Immediately after surgery I was pain-free. I am so grateful I can now sleep at night without pain, and stand upright/walk without using a cane. I’m very grateful for Dr. Garvey and his staff and the staff at Abbot.

After visiting 3 different neurosurgeons and basically being told I was nuts and there was nothing wrong with me Dr. Garvey and his staff took the time to thoroughly look at my x-rays and MRI’s and identify potentially areas that could be causing my symptoms. When I got to talk with the Dr. he was kind, helpful and explained his plan of treatment in a way that made sense. I didn’t feel looked down on like the other neurosurgeons made me feel. While we are still in the early stages of treatment I feel I am in good hands and with some time and patients he will get me back in shape so I can work the jobs I used to instead of working one that doesn’t fulfill my day. Dr. Garvey is an outstanding surgeon who cares for his patients and ensures that they now will be substantially better then when he first saw them. Recovery is monitored and patients stay in touch with him and his staff. Would highly recommend him to anyone who has problems with their back.
