Very thorough doctor and had lots of attention to detail in explaining what was wrong

After visiting 3 different neurosurgeons and basically being told I was nuts and there was nothing wrong with me Dr. Garvey and his staff took the time to thoroughly look at my x-rays and MRI’s and identify potentially areas that could be causing my symptoms. When I got to talk with the Dr. he was kind, helpful and explained his plan of treatment in a way that made sense. I didn’t feel looked down on like the other neurosurgeons made me feel. While we are still in the early stages of treatment I feel I am in good hands and with some time and patients he will get me back in shape so I can work the jobs I used to instead of working one that doesn’t fulfill my day. Thank you Dr. Garvey!

Dr. Garvy is a very kind, compassionate and highly skilled and respected spine surgeon. I have had neck and severe shoulder and arm pain for about 6 years. I had gone to multiple shoulder and neck surgeons, neurologists and pain management docs who were stumped about my pain. Steroid injections, pain meds, PT, chiropractic care and acupuncture didn’t work. I eventually started seeing surgeons again since my pain worsened. I wanted more opinions so I saw 4 surgeons. Dr. Garvy gave me an extensive exam compared to what 2 of the 4 doctors did. After reviewing my MRI he came to the conclusion that neck surgery would be a good option if I chose to have it done. Two previous surgeons felt the same way and Dr. Garvy cemented the recommendation. I feel very confident about Dr. Garvy and would not hesitate to have him do my neck surgery.
