Dr. Timothy Glenn Gentner, MD

I was told by this not so brilliant, laid back doctor that my problems were in my head. He suggested that I was taking too many meds - I was taking ONE. I was angry enough to tell him where to go which he quickly responded with “you too”. Later I followed up with an ER visit and was admitted with a serious infection.

Carson Medical Group is the worst. This is the second time they trying to overcharge me for a preventive visit. Last time was me mentioned about my back pain during my annual check up which should be covered under my insurance and they tried to charge me extra for an office visit. This time I was pregnant during my annual checkup visit (which consider preventive and should be covered by my insurance) with Dr Gentner. So during the visit of course he was gonna ask about it and talk about it (but nothing was done, no blood test to confirm, no ultrasound or anything). I was a new patient with him and it was my first visit, of course we should talk about everything going on with my health. Now they are trying to charge me an office visit because I was pregnant. This is ridiculous

How does this guy have a job? The absolute worst doctor I have ever encountered. No bedside manner whatsoever. Rude, argumentative, and had no interest in anything I was trying to tell him. He knows everything by just judging on first glance. He should not be allowed to practice medicine. I ended up having 3 sutgeries, spending several weeks in the hospital and months of recovery after his diagnosis of being a "fat, pain med seeker." I had to go to a real doctor, several specialist (who would actually order x-rays, MRI's, etc.) to help me. Hip replacement, and 2 back surgeries later, I can walk again, get off of disability and go back to work for the last 6 years, and all without having to learn how to "push back back from the dinner table before your 4th helping of potatos." I cannot articulate how incompetent this moron is.

Only spends time with me when I was thinking about finding another physician. Takes forever to get a refill on RX

The office staff was great. Very efficient. Dr. Gentner seems very caring. He sizes things up in a very efficient fashion. He is an active listener. I really liked him and feel like he would be able/willing to help me with any problem I might have. He's really encouraging when he sees you're doing all you can do to stay healthy! Great doctor!

He refused to come into the exam room at first and said I stink of cigarettes. He once left me in the exam room for an hour. When I looked out he was eating his lunch. He always told my mom and I to lose weight and exercise and rarely sent us for any testing. My daughter's shoulder hurt and his diagnosis was to get a new mattress. We told him for a year that my dad had alzheimer's. Gentner said he couldn't diagnose that, gave us a bunch of aricept and sent him to a neurologist who only diagnosed him with depression. Luckily, after the dead ends, we went to UNR. He died of Alzheimer's in 2012. So if you want to be weight shamed or misdiagnosed, go see him. I think injects collogen or botox as well.

Best GP you could ask for, called to check up on my son on his own time in the evening after working a full day. Called in for colleague's opinion to help diagnose his condition. Really went the extra mile.

I would recommend Dr. Gentner to family and friends. He is professional yet friendly; he took the time to listen to my concerns and discuss them with me. Going to the doctor can be pretty awkward but Dr. Gentner made it as comfortable as it could be.

He treated me as if my symptoms were all in my head, made me feel embarrassed to even have come in. Later I found out there was a serious problem that he overlooked. Staff was slow, rude, and they never even called in the presription (which actually would have done more harm than good).

My two sons have gone to Dr. Gentner for the past 8 years. He is kind and gentle while still being thorough. Although their health has been very good, Dr. G has handled the few minor health problems they've had as well as their immunization schedule and annual exams with a friendly, professional manner.
