Dr. George is a board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon and specializes in minimally invasive cardiac surgery and implantation of left ventricular assist devices for end-stage heart failure. Dr. George received his medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta. He then completed his residency in general surgery at the distinguished Johns Hopkins Hospital where he was awarded the Hugh R. Sharp Cardiac Surgery Research Fellowship. Dr. George stayed on at Johns Hopkins and completed the two-year cardiac research fellowship, receiving numerous awards and recognition for his outstanding work. He then went on to the University of Virginia where he completed a second fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery. Dr. George is on the medical staff at Baylor Scott & White The Heart Hospital - Plano.

Dr. Timothy George replaced the mitral valve a third time as well as the aortic. I woke up in my room ask my wife when I was to have the surgery. They’re done she said. This my third open heart surgery. He is great. No,he is superb. Regular room visits, bed side manner great. After 6 weeks I feel great. NO afib. NO pvc’s. Walking unaided. Shopping with my wife although I hand on to the basket. After the surgery Dr George said I’ll good for another 17 years. My sincerest thanks for a job well done. You are the best. David Mullis

Dr George performed triple by-pass surgery on me in May 2018. I could not have asked for better care, before, during and after the surgery. His staff is meticulous and Plano Heart Hospital is a superb facility. Highly recommended!
