Dr. Timothy Edward Iorio, MD

I had severe carpel tunnel. When I went to see Dr. Iorio he listened and explained all the options and let me ask all the questions I needed answers to. I opted to do out patient surgery on both hands at the same time. I worked great. I could tell a difference the next day. I had surgery on Thursday and stayed home Friday. By Sunday I was able to take bandages off and resume activities. Staff was great and during surgery they were all wonderful knowing I'm a big chicken. They calmed all my fears and even joked with me during surgery. Best thing I've ever done!

I visited Dr. Iorio and he said there was nothing he could do for my osteoarthritis. I am losing the use of my fingers and don't know where to turn for help. I was very disappointed with Dr. Iorio. I don'r believe nothing can be done for my problem.

If you are considering Dr. Iorio for your hand/wrist care, I suggest you consider a more experienced, knowledgable surgeon. Dr. Iorio did carpal tunnel surgery on both of my wrists. Two days after surgery, I injured my right wrist. In a half-awake state in bed, the cloth bandage became caught in the blanket while I was turning, then my wrist twisted hard as my body landed on it. The pain was excruciating, and I knew I’d done something to it. I followed post-surgery instructions and contacted Dr. Iorio’s office. They made an appointment, and he said that everything is such a mess after surgery that it just needs time to heal. He had zero concern for the injury. Over a few months, as the pain from the surgery began to heal and go away, the pain from the injury became more apparent. It was absolutely different, and was becoming worse. My motion was extremely limited. Three months later, I still couldn’t unlock a door with my right hand. Several times, I followed up with him… or his PA, describing the symptoms in detail. He saiid the pain I was experiencing was due to anxiety, because my brain was focusing on the carpal tunnel symptoms for so long, before surgery. Dr. Iorio actually drew a large circle on a piece of paper and said (as though I was a 5-year old), “the amount of pain your brain is feeling is this big, large circle… and we need to reduce it to this big,” as he drew a smaller circle. Keep in mind, he NEVER ONCE physically examined my hand/wrist (with respect to the injury). No range of motion, no pressure, nothing to investigate what happened. All he ever did was inspect his incision scars from surgery. After 6 months of his blaming “anxiety,” I decided to get a second opinion at OSU. The OSU doctor performed a physical examination on my hand, with range-of-motion and strength tests. Based on the symptoms, he ordered an MRI. The MRI showed two ligament tears in my wrist. Now I am finally getting medical care for the injury. What I experienced with Dr. Iorio was not medicine. What a bizarre experience, and shame on him for delaying treatment of a very painful injury. I hope this helps others make an informed decision about their medical care.

Dr Iorio has one of the best bedside manners i have encountered in a surgeon. i would recommend him highly and use him again if i need to. Thank you for doing both my hand, carpal tunnel release!

Dr Iorio has worked now on both of my hands. He fixed a failed procedure by another surgeon and as well fixed the other hand also. Nothing but praise for his person and ability.

This surgeon raises red flags all over the place. If you are wise, heed this review.

I went to Dr. Iorio after a bad break followed by a surgery gone wrong and a staph infection. To say the least, I was a mess. I had absolutely no use of my right arm at all and I am right hand dominant. I had little to no hope but he came highly recommended, so I tried to stay positive. He reviewed my case and did multiple tests, x-rays, scans and bloodwork. After getting everything back, he called me into his office and was clear about all of my options. There was no way to give me full mobility. That went out the window with the surgery gone wrong but he could give me quite a bit of my movement back and greatly reduce the pain. He let me help make the decision about which option would best suit my lifestyle. The surgery was scheduled 4 days later. The surgery itself took a long time but it was worth it. I’m 6 weeks out of surgery and I have virtually no pain. I can use my arm for some tasks already and my arm looks normal again. I couldn’t say any of that before the surgery. I… couldn’t hold a pencil before the surgery and the pain made me miserable. Dr. Iorio has changed my life. My husband and I are able to go out to eat again and I can push a grocery cart. I didn’t leave my house after the 1st surgery. My arm was disfigured and quite painful. I was unable to use it for anything. I would definitely recommend Dr. Iorio. I don’t think any other doctor could have fixed the mess in my arm as well as Dr. Iorio did. His patience, kindness and sincerity are genuine. He truly has a gift. He is fabulous at the technical work of reconstructing the tiny bones, muscles, tendons and ligaments in the hand, wrist and arm but he also is wonderful at taking care of the personal work of taking care of the caring, calming and comforting of the person sitting in the chair in front of him. If you need any surgery or treatment for an injury or illness of the hand, wrist or arm, Dr. Iorio is the doctor I would recommend.

In late May I tripped and fell. Of course I put my hands down as I hit the ground. I managed to break my pinky on the right hand. Not just a simple break, the pinky was sideways. I went to the Ohio Health Emergency room. They put a temporary splint and made an appointment with Dr. Timothy Iorio. I knew at my first visit I was in good hands (no pun intended). He explained my break and what was needed to get me back to the activities I love. These include golf, boxing and gardening. My surgery left me with a plate and 4 screws. Dr. Iorio gave me rehab exercises which I diligently did. At my one month check-up, the doctor was shocked at how good I was doing. He told me if I stay the coirse, he will get me back to all the things I love to do. Now three months after surgery, I am back to golfing and gardening. Boxing will be coming soon but I still need to heal more. I have been impressed not only with Ohio Health facilities but especially with Dr. Iorio. He always… informed me of plans and procedures, my progress and the steps to healing. He has a great personality which made the entire experience better than expected. Thank you Dr. Iorio for fixing my pinky.

Dr. Iorio was able to surgically relieve De Quervain's tenosynovitis that had been causing serious pain for 6 months. I had been bracing prior to seeing him for 4 months. We tried a cortisone shot, but it didn't work for me due to prolonged damage. I could feel a difference within a few hours of surgery. Anyone on the fence about seeing him or having this surgery should do it. He's a fantastic doctor, well respected, and extremely knowledgeable. HIGHLY recommend.

I broke my wrist and needed surgery. Dr. Iorio was wonderful. He explained everything thoroughly and was super accessible and caring. I had practically no pain after surgery and I did not have to take any pain killers other than over-the-counter ibuprofen. I definitely recommend him. He is great.
