Dr. Timothy E Irvine, MD

I am changing doctors. My company changed their health insurance and the doctor I loved was not on the plan. So, I changed to my wife's doctor, Dr. Irvine, since he was. Set the appointment, went for the visit, saw the PA which is standard, saw Dr. Irvine for about 2 minutes which I thought was strange since I was a new patient. Figured he would spend s bit more time to get to know me other than basically introducing himself. Also, I had to get a referral for a colonoscopy. They gave me one, but when I called they were no longer in my network so I had to call back and get another one. I had to leave a voicemail for the person who handles that and 2 months later, no return call. So, I called back and actually spoke with the person who said she would get me a new referral and call me back with the information. It's been about 2-3 weeks and still no call. I also needed to get a referral for my blood doctor due to certain issues I have. I know he is in my network. But, they said they… couldn't give out more than 1 referral per visit. I thought that was strange. Maybe it is blue cross blue shield HMO thing but it seemed to me more like they wanted the money for an extra visit. It just seems they nickel and dime you to death. My wife is becoming dissatisfied with him and his peeps there also. She had to get a referral too. They forgot to give it to her. They wanted her to come back in for another visit to get the referral. She went in for the visit and got the referral. Guess what, they charged her for the visit. Outrageous!!! They should have just given it to her over the phone. She also told them about my situation and it evidently didn't mean anything to them because they haven't called me about my dissatisfaction. But, they got their money from her repeat visit and I wasn't a happy camper when I heard about that. There was something else they wanted her to come in for again and we said no because it was for information they could provide by her just going in and picking it up at the receptionist area without having to schedule a visit. I understand doctors have a lot of patients to see, but when you have a new patient, if you as the doctor are in the office, at least show that you care about having them as a patient. Spend more than a 2-minute introduction. Ask them questions so you will know something about them and why they are there and what is going on with their health. Otherwise, how will you know your PA actually didn't miss something vital that could make a difference in how you treat them. If you don't show that you care about having me as a patient, then why should I care about having you as my doctor. The last doctor I had, that whole office was awesome. Communicated with you well. Would even receive calls at times to see how I was. The doctor actually came in and discussed with and explained things to me. Maybe I am spoiled but I think not. It's more like the difference between a doctor and his staff who seemed to truly care about his patients versus one where he and his staff don't really seem to care at all outside of a source of revenue. Hey that's my experience and I'm sticking to it!

Love Dr Irvine. He takes time with you to make sure you understand your sickness and how to overcome it.

Love this Doctor & his staff! They make you feel at ease they dont just push you thru.

Dr. Irvine is a very knowledgeable physician. He listens to what you say, and gives complete answers, In addition he has a sense of humor and a genuine interest in his patients. That is why I have been his patient for many years.

Dr. Tim has been spot on and always gets me healed up, office staff is OK, not overly friendly but I have not had any bad experience's. I go to see Dr. Tim and not the staff anyway. Dr.Tim is genuine and cares about his patients, if I have to wait 10-15 minutes I'm OK with that, great straight forward doctor that speaks English

I love Dr. Irvine once I finally get to see him. I have been seeing him for over 5 years and have never waited less than an hour in the waiting room, and the last few times, it's been closer to 2 hours just sitting in the waiting room. The last time I went, after waiting 2 hours, it was obvious the rest of the staff was ready to go and didn't want to be waiting on him, so they sent in his PA without asking me or even letting me know in advance. She was nice and all, but if I schedule with Dr. Irvine, and then sit in the waiting room waiting for 2 hours, I'd like to see him or at least be given the common courtesy of being informed I will being seeing someone else. They have VERY strict office policies and refuse to bend them for anything. I was stuck in traffic and running late for my appt, I was told if I was more than 15 minutes late, my appt was canceled and I'd be a no show and charged 40.00$. The next time I went, the 40.00 $ was collected the second I signed in, not even… asking any questions, even though I've never missed an appt in 5 yrs. So, I have to pay 40.00 for being 20 mins late and am forced to cancel my appt, but EVERYTIME I go, I wait 1-2 hours in the waiting room ?? I guess my time is not at all valuable. Thank goodness they don't have to pay me 40.00$ everytime they are more then 15 minutes late. Stop scheduling him so many pts if he can't see them that quickly. Oh and another thing, the staff is rude and NEVER smiles. Marty his MA, not nurse, lectures and gives his opinion and is rude while rooming. I always feel like he's looking down at me and thinks he is king because he's an MA. One day I will tell him I'm an RN. If I didn't LOVE Dr. Irvine's personality, I'd never return.

Great doctors. Great ethics and personalities. Too bad their management is SO horrible. Unfortunately, the staff is so unhappy..it sadly shows , causing them to have terrible attitudes.

I have been using this practice for a long time. My son went to Dr. Irvine back in 2001, when we needed to find a new doctor. Soon thereafter the whole family was using him. Great personality and takes time to listen to you. I have never experienced the rudeness expressed on other reviews. Over the years, I think I have seen all of the doctors in the practice. My favorites are Irvins and Palmaro.

Office will not provide pre-auth for medications under any circumstances. Nurse did not call me back about the medication and I had severe discontinuation side effects. When I finally called and got the nurse on the phone she was rude to me. They chose to keep me at an ineffective dose of meds instead of filling out a pre-auth or finding out what meds I could take and changing. Not in the best interest of the patient.
