Dr. Timothy Darnell Malone, MD

PLEASE PLEASE do not see Dr. Malone. My parents took me to him almost a decade ago (I was 10!) and he was quick to throw autism, schizo, bipolar, etc meds at me. Didn’t look at the root of the problem which stemmed from abuse. The meds I took so long ago were way to extreme and no other doc would have perscribed them to me at that age / situation. In addition, they still mess w me today (messed up my development- most of the meds have been sued by now) even though it was TEN YEARS AGO. My heart hurts for the people going through what I went through. I’m angry for little me but want to help others. Please do not give him your time.

Terrible doctor, staff very rude. He is a for profit doctor and the Palmetto behavioral center are all full of it. They remind me of used car salesmen. They are only interested in the money and not the well being of the patient. Poor excuse of a doctor. I give him 0 stars.

Dr. Timothy Malone is an excellent doctor. He has made my son's transition from childhood to adulthood so much smoother.

My child was hospitalized because she was extremely depressed and suicidal. Dr. Malone wanted to address every issue except the most important one which was the desire to commit suicide. He told me my child was defiant. He confined her to her room because she would not complete an "assignment" for him. The assignment had already been completed the night before. Then, he lied to me about confining her to her room. He basically told me I was a bad parent on the telephone. (Unprofessional) He also made my daughter feel like she was a "bad" child. She already has self esteem issues, so this was very damaging. He is arrogant and full of himself. He should not be in charge of the treatment of patients that are on a secure unit as he has problems controlling his own need to have power over others. This man is a sad example of a mental health care professional.

Support Staff not courteous at all, rarely answers the phone. Calls returned several hours to days later. Patients not advised of the practice moving. Appointments are difficult to acquire. After waiting months for an appointment, the wait in the office is more than an hour. After the Dr see you, he spends 5 - 8 minutes with you. In the three years my child was under Dr. Malone's care, he never followed up after a visit.

I had a terrible experience with Dr. Malone. He was arrogant and told me he knew what wrong within 10 minutes of meeting me. He didn't seem interested in what I was saying as he seemed more interested in hearing his own voice.

Up there with the worst doctors I have seen. Insulted me during a visit. On a followup, arbitrarily increased dosage of meds without a reason - backed off after questioning. Office staff incompetent dealing with insurance. Would never recommend.

Stay away from Dr. Malone!! He is a first class jerk who upset me to the point of suicide after seeing him for about twenty minutes. I have vowed to never seek help again because of him. It is not worth the risk of encountering someone else like him. He has no compassion at all and his bedside manner is horific!!
