Dr. Timothy James Marten, MD

I spent several years considering facial rejuvenation but did not feel comfortable committing until I discovered Dr. Marten. My experience with Dr. Marten and his entire staff has been nothing less than exceptional from the first phone call to the post operative visits. The experience and result was worth every penny. He cares deeply about his work, his clients, his staff and his results and it shows! This is not an easy procedure and if you are going to commit to it I would not recommend anyone else. A special thanks to his nurses Helen and Lynda (for the overnight care) and the entire front of the office. So much anxiety was avoided because I knew I was in good hands. I’m only two weeks out but I can already see a very natural and beautiful result emerging. All my questions and concerns have been answered so far and I’m looking forward to seeing the final result. Filled with gratitude and relief that I found Dr. Marten!

I cannot speak highly enough as to my experience with Dr. Marten and his entire staff. He was professional, took his time explaining every detail, and only does ONE SURGERY PER DAY so that each patient gets his full attention. Reading the negative reviews I started to notice that almost all of them contain the same misspellings and grammatical errors. The things they are saying are absolutely the opposite of things that Dr. Marten would do. In fact I asked him to remove fat from my eyes and he said no, stating that doing so would make me actually look older. I think someone has been trying to “tank” his rating either so another plastic surgeon would get more business or just because this person is a troll...trying to ruin someone’s reputation for no reason. Look at the reviews that DON’T seem to be written by the same person in order to get a better overall feel for the type of doctor Dr. Marten is. He is the best of the best. It seems very unfair to me that someone can get on a… website like this and write multiple negative reviews in order to destroy a surgeon’s rating. Pay attention to the detail of the reviews...the terminology used. If someone actually had surgery performed by Dr. Marten, they will know the names of the procedures. They will know the terminology. And they will have reviews that make sense...that don’t just assault the man for everything under the sun with no facts to back up their accusations.

I have an unusual and unique insight into Dr. Marten, his office and his skills. I am a Retired Plastic Surgeon and have seen multiple presentations by Dr. Marten at various major Plastic Surgery meetings. There is no doubt in my mind, and all of the colleagues that I have spoken to, that he is the most thoughtful and talented of any surgeon in this field, regardless. He has a great sense of aesthetics and has been uniquely innovative and results that are both extremely dramatic, truly youthful looking and very natural. Knowing this he performed a face-lift with additional adjunctive procedures for a close friend of mine. Her results were nothing less than remarkable. The bands and the redundant skin were transformed into a beautiful and youthful neck. Using the SMAS flap and well placed and contoured fat grafts, he was able to achieve a soft beauty that is amazing. His office staff are thoughtful and the office is run with elegance and precision. I have spent 35 years being a… Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon, being very proud of the work that I have performed, but Dr. Marten’s work, in my opinion, is unmatched.

Dr. Marten revised the facial work of another surgeon. I made a big mistake and decided to get plastic surgery at the age of 32 from a surgeon in Boston who lacked the “eye” and expertise to give a pleasing result. I had to suffer through my wedding with a very masculine, square chin implant. Dr Marten came highly recommended. He has no website, needs to marketing nor advertising. His work is just that good. At 34, I had my first procedure with him. He did fat grafting to my temples, zygomatic arch, tear troughs, evened out my chin and jawline so they were symmetric and feminine. He fixed a minor issue with my hairline. Once the swelling had subsided, I was STUNNED. I had never looked as pretty as I did then, at 34, as I had at any point during my life — No exaggeration. It wasn’t that I needed to look younger, I just ended up simply looking better. With my temples fuller, my eyebrows lifted, smooth plump skin under my eyes and outer cheeks, plus a perfect chin and jawline, I looked… fantastic. As time passed, say six months or so, my skin glowed, due to the stem cells in the transferred fat. A former boyfriend saw me at a party (I was married at this time and he knew it so I felt it was a genuine compliment) and said, “how is it that you look five years younger than when I saw you last year?? I’m serious”. I went back to Dr. Marten again, perhaps five years later. Same perfect results. I’ve never been happier with my looks, and I owe it to him. I will go back! PS I really wish Vitals would examine a great number of the “reviews” given to Dr. Marten. They’re clearly all from one person and their content is disturbing. I would hope this site would strive to maintain a modicum of integrity and filter the reviews (close to 100) which have all likely come from one IP address. This person also has inundated other review sites and web searches with creepy descriptions and graphics about her “jaw being amputated” and other unhinged claims. She needs help, not a platform.

Dr. Marten is one of only a few doctors that actually works intramuscularly so the results of the face lift procedures last for years longer than most other surgeons. In addition, he does several small procedures when he can rather than just pulling all your skin up on your face. In this way his results leave you looking natural and beautiful...not like you are in a wind tunnel. His before and after photos of patients (mine included) show instance after instance of his patients looking like their younger, prettier sister. We don’t come out looking all the same...like a factory. We come out looking like the best version of ourselves. I am angry and horrified by whatever person has posted all of these negative reviews. You can tell that they are written by the same person (with limited education) because they all make the same grammatical errors and all say almost exactly the same thing. Dr. Marten’s rating have always been 5-star before this troll came in and lowered his ratings… through their smear job. Dr. Marten does only one surgery each day so that his entire focus is on that patient’s results being as perfect as humanly possible. He was compassionate and kind. I had my procedures done years ago, and when I inquired about removing some of the puffiness from around my eyes, he explained that doing that would actually make me look older, therefore he couldn’t perform them in good conscious. (So I know this other person has lied in their numerous reviews). At all times, both on the phone and in person, Dr. Marten was professional and very careful to explain everything he would do in the procedures in advance. He only did the things we agreed on ahead of time and at all times I felt completely safe in his care. Request his “Before and After” book of patients photos and you will see for yourself that Dr. Marten’s work is impeccable. I can’t thank him enough for what he did for my self confidence and happiness.

If you want to know where plastic surgeons go to have their own faces and necks rejuvenated, it is Dr. Tim Marten. I am just one of several that I know. I am a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon in Louisiana and specialize in breast and body rejuvenation. I know how important it is to have the first surgery done right and by someone who wants to get a homerun every single time. I am now 2 months out from surgery. I look in the mirror and see a better version of myself - just 20 years ago. His ability to turn back the clock in the most natural way was even better than I anticipated. I have literally seen him talk all over the world. I could have chosen to have this surgery by many wonderful face specialists, but I chose Dr. Marten. It was certainly not convenient for me to travel and stay in San Francisco, but I wanted the best and that is exactly what he delivered. 5 years ago, I had a face/neck lift, fat transfer and brow lift I was turning 45 and my neck looked 65.. My face showed the regular signs of aging. I was single and wanted to keep my youthful face. 5 years out and it is still fantastic, people genuinely think I'm in my early 30's and I will be 50 at the end of this month. I still get carded! Dr. Marten is very busy as he does such excellent work, I dont feel like I got to know him very well, but his staff is amazing and the end result was what most important to me! With fat grafting, it was a full 8 weeks until I started looking like me again, but those two months are worth the years of looking fantastic! I highly recommend Dr. Marten for facial surgery, he is a perfectionist!

I agree with review below that someone with deeper issues keeps reposting. You couldn’t be in better, safer hands than Dr Marten. I am happy with his staff as well and my results.

You won’t go wrong with this world class surgeon who is loved by many. Humble and kind, but his skill is a gift. You won’t go wrong with this dr. I am blessed to have found him in my journey of research.
