truth, he won't prescribe anything to help he will prescribe medicine he gets paid more for, which may give you allergic reactions

History: Multiple Sclerosis. Not Expected no have a good life. Now at 60 years old I would give anything to have a doctor with his knowledge. As of this writing I will finishing my Masters. And will be calling him for advise.

I have been under Dr. Murphy's care for many years for bipolar disorder, and felt compelled to write a review expressing my thankfulness for his professionalism, insight, and caring. My mother who lives far away has been suffering from her fifth (!?) episode of severe depression following an extended manic phase, and the contrast between the care she receives from her psychiatrist and primary care doc compared to what I've experienced with Dr. Murphy is stark and depressing (literally). I feel thankful that Dr. Murphy has kept me stable and functioning for so many years, with the right combination of medications and therapy. I have felt safe confiding my struggles and fears to him, and wish my mom had the same level of trust with her own docs. I've also been treated with utmost respect by his staff. It's not an understatement to say that Dr. Murphy saved my life, my marriage, and my family.

Dr. Murphy always takes the time to answer all of my questions. He is conservative with his diagnosis and recommendations, which I appreciate. He works with the family.

We took are son to several psychiatrists to help with his depression, but nothing was helping. We finally found Dr. Murphy and have been going to him for years. What impressed me most is that he actually took our son off of some of the medications other doctors had prescribed him, which helped considerably.

I appreciated Dr. Murphy's bedside manner. He seemed caring and compassionate and did not talk down to me. I would recommend him to anyone that seeks a good psychiatrist!

Very caring. Spends time asking questions and answering questions. Doesn't just reach for the prescription pad when you come in.

I came under Dr. Murphy's care after years of being the mom of his patient. While caring for my child, he always gave him the time he needed, and supported his efforts to get well. He gave me time to express my concerns, but never left me with any impression other than my child was his patient. Now that I am a patient, I appreciate his openness in discussing alternatives to drugs, and his candidness when he feels that is not a viable option. When my child suffered a crisis, he called me, and asked how I was doing, concerned that my anxiety would be difficult to manage. I feel he looks at the whole picture when suggesting medication, and explains all ramifications clearly with out being condescending. I believe he has saved my child's life, and has made my life much more manageable.
