Dr. Timothy E Nelson, MD

Dr. Moseson was born November 24, 1945 in Berea, Ohio. He received his Bachelor of Sciences degree in 1968 from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He received his medical degree, cum laude, from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore in 1972. He did his internship and surgical residency training at Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland and completed a two-year Clinical Fellowship, sponsored by the American Cancer Society, in Oncology in 1978. Dr. Moseson joined the staff of Longview Surgical Group in July of 1980.

Dr. Moseson met his wife, Bertha, also a physician, at Oregon Health Sciences University. They have 3 wonderful daughters; Erika, Heidi, and Greta. Their home has been filled with "extended family" from a variety of countries. Numerous cats and dogs complete the household. Recreational activities include high wind sailboarding, marathons, triathalons, skiing, and every variety of boating. Dr. Moseson is a devoted father and …holds an annual Dad & daughters only "Papa’s Camp" each summer. He has spent time as an assistant coach, and sponsored a volleyball team, along with biking & playing tennis with his daughters.

Dr. Moseson is certified by the American Board of Surgery in General Surgery. He has a special interest in Oncologic Surgery; diagnosis and treatment of cancers. Dr. Moseson is the Medical Director of the Community Cancer Center. This includes the Columbia Regional Breast Center. This new facility, located in the Peace Health Professional Building, offers comprehensive breast health evaluations including exams, dedicated breast ultrasound and mammographic imaging, minimally invasive biopsy including stereotactic biopsy, ultrasound guided biopsy, and sentinel node localization and biopsy as well as evaluations for lumps and nipple discharge. Both the Columbia Regional Breast Center and the Community Cancer Center are affiliated with Oregon Health Sciences University. Moseson has admitting privileges at St. John Medical Center (Longview, Washington), S.W. Washington Medical Center (Vancouver, Washington) and Oregon Health Sciences University (Portland). Dr. Moseson holds medical licenses in both the State of Washington and Oregon.
