Dr. Timothy Scott Nelson, MD

I will never allow this man to treat my son again. This “professional” talked down to me and my husband. My husband and I are first time parents and when our newborn had a 102 fever and was inconsolable at 11:50pm we got nervous and brought him to the ER because we were afraid his fever would rise over night. Of course we covered him up and took all the precautionary measures that we could to avoid any ER germs getting to him. However, Dr. Nelson didn’t make us feel any better. My son was ok and that is what we needed to hear to be able to rest easy that night. Instead Dr Nelson talked down to us and made us feel guilty for bringing our son to the ER. When I asked Dr Nelson “what can I do to console my son when he becomes inconsolable?” I was hoping for some advice, something I didn’t already know. Something to help us through the night until we can talk to the pediatrician in the morning. Instead of advice he said “I’d prefer you to ask the pediatrician”. It looked like Dr Nelson was… about to say something else but instead he walked out- and never came back. I had to ask a nurse if our visit was over and if we could leave. Thank you Dr Nelson for making me scared to ever take my son to the ER again. Thank you for making me question every medical decision I make with my son before consulting a physicians help. It is sad That I have been in healthcare for over 12 years and I’ve worked with dozens of doctors all ranging from primary care, ER doctors, specialists and Dr. Nelson ranks as the least friendly doctor that I have ever met, not just in my career but in my life.
