Dr. Timothy Alan Peters, MD

Very careless and extremely arrogant. Went to another doctor and found Dr. Peter's diagnosis totally wrong. Scary.

I wrote a review back in 2011 about Doctor Peter's sending me for a drug screening. I see someone wrote a review after me saying something as, "he probably had reasons to send me." Well for one I never had a problem going for a drug screening, and there was nothing missing from the story. However, he apologized to me and told me that this has never happened to him in all of his years of practicing. Like I stated before the hospital told me that Dr. Peters should have known to send such test to South Bend. I called the hospital and thankfully they still had my urine, and they sent it to South Bend for testing. Needless to say everything that was supposed to be in my system was there and nothing more. After someone acts like your a liar and everything else it is hard to trust them, especially since they are your doctor. Yes, his nurse and staff are very friendly. But to make someone go without something they have been on for numerous years for no reason is very unprofessional. He also… let my blood pressure get out of control, until his nurse practitioner put me on medication to control it.

I read the above comments and that is why I am compelled to leave my review. I think that obiviously maybe the person whom was drug tested left out a few details. He is an internal medicine dr and has had traning in the medicine field so probably has a reason for testing you for drugs. The medication you are on should be in your system. I have been a patient for 5 years, he came highly recomended. I was in a car accident in 2002 that impaired my limitations bad enough that I was forced to retire from the postal service at age 26. I have and will always have severe pain due to this accident. Dr Peters has showed nothing but compassion in his bed side manner to me and my condition. He has educiated me on my condition and has helped me lived the most productive life with my disability. I have to mention this one instiance I had with Dr Peters. My father passed in Oct of 2011. As with any death in a family it is a very emotional experience. I didnt feel like doing anything, even… attending the funeral. My husband mentioned to me I should call my Dr., and I did. I spoke with a member of his staff (and his staff is always kind and compassionate)and told her my situation and if they could get me into the office before the funeral. She called me back with in the hour and said she had spoke to the dr., they called me in a anti axiety low dose medication and she stated the dr was sorry for my loss. I dont know if I would of been able to make it with out this medication. He truely helped me cope with a huge loss. If that isn't enough, I made a follow up appt with him and one of the first things he asked was how I was doing with my loss. Most dr's dont remember my name, much less a loss! In conclustion, Dr Peters is professional and caring. I just believe there is more to the stories of the past reviews. The Rx the past review mentioned (perkoset) is a serious drug, a narcotic addiction prone. He has all right to test and should, that is a caring dr. Dr.Peters prescribed me pain medication for over two years. One day he call me and tells me to go to the hospital for a drug screening. I go to the hospital within hours and complete the screening, which Dr.Peters tells me that the drug screening came back negative for any medicine. I know that this is impossible because I take six percocet a day. I contact the lab and they tell me that Dr. Peters knows that these types of test need to be sent to South Bend. Dr. Peters tells me that it deos not matter what those test results come back showing, because he is not going to be my doctor anymore. That is so unfair because the hospital used the same urine. How can you have someone on medicine for two years, then all of a sudden take it completely away from them. This behavior is unprofessional and dangerous for the patient. This doctor is uncaring and shows that he does not care for his patients.

This doctor has to be the most unprofessional and worse doctor I have ever seen. I lost one kidney and the other one was 60% blocked. He allowed my blood pressure to stay so high and it caused all of my health issues. Do not go to him he has no care and a very bad bedside manner.
