Dr. Timothy Patrick Pittinger, MD

My son experienced a 60% burn in a hotel fire. Dr. Pittinger treated him for 108 days, thru 16 surgeries. Throughout the process he showed true compassion for my son and for us as a family. He had a plan on what needed to be done and spent time with us to explain each procedure and any potential dangers. He or his partner visited my son at least once every day. I always thought his skill in performing the surgeries/skin grafts was very good. This was confirmed when I moved my son to a highly rated rehab facility in St. Louis. Everyone in the new facility were very complimentary of the surgeries/skin grafts performed by Dr. Pittinger. His positive attitude and concern, helped us get thru this terrible ordeal.

My six week old son was diagnosed with Biliary Atresia and needed surgery to allow his bile to drain out from the liver. It was a very scary time for my husband and I. One night Dr. Pittinger walked into our hospital room at Akron Children's Hospital to meet us and right then I knew he was the doctor that I wanted to operate on my son. My husband and I asked question after question and Dr. Pittinger answered each one. He is a no nonsense doctor-he gives it to you straight. In a situation like ours where we had a time limit to make a decision about our son's health his confidence was reassuring. Dr. Pittinger knows his stuff and kept us informed every step of the way. There were moments in the hospital where I thought I could not watch one more nurse poke my baby. Dr. Pittinger swooped in and saved the day and fixed the problem in a very efficient way. The part perhaps I appreciated the most was post-op, Every time we called the office he called me back and showed us how much… he truly cared about our son even weeks after the surgery. Your son or daughter is in good hands with Dr. Pittinger as your surgeon. I thank God for him. My son is now sixth months and doing great. His scar is barely there and he is happy and healthy. Thank you Dr. Pittinger from the bottom of our hearts.

When Your child has surgery at 5 weeks old it is heart breaking. The way Dr Pittinger made me feel as comfortable as I could was amazing when I left me baby in his hands for a hour I knew He was going to be ok. The way He sat down beside us and talked about everything after surgery was amazing. Drs get busy I know but he made us feel like he was there only for us and that is wonderful!

I also graduated with Tim. He has always been extremely respectful, talented, and patient. His amazing sense of humor and sweetness make him a perfect pediatric doctor. I am so proud of his dedication and accomplishments and fortunate enough to call him Friend ... Pennsylvania's loss has definitely been Ohio's gain!
