Dr. Timothy Wade Powers, MD

After having issue with getting in to see Dr Powers, he was great. Explained my condition and the need for surgery. Explained the surgery well and why it was necessary. All staff was easy to work with and were friendly. The only issue was getting to schedule due to need for the referral from pcp which (while available in my portal) was allegedly not received multiple times. Once I get through that hoop it was easy and good.

I think this doctor is horrible and, quite frankly, mean. I live with pain every single day. I don't take narcotics (choice I make), and over the years I've had 10-12 epidural injections for my back pain. I choose to have epidural injections with fluoroscope and under sedation (I've done it without sedation and the pain is horrible). I reached out to Dr. Powers through his practice and received a call a few days later and was told that he wouldn't accept me as a patient. He made this decision without EVER talking to me. He knew absolutely nothing about me, my life, my issues, my history, my pain level...NOTHING!! He made this decision based on paper. How can a DOCTOR base a decision like this without ever meeting someone and finding out what their history is and why they are the way they are?? Unfortunately, he and this practice is the only game in town if I want fluoroscope and sedation. Definitely proof that Spokane is far behind in medical procedures. Even if this horrible… human being would see me now, I'd fly back to California and go to my old doctor before I'd let this mean person touch me.

After a few injections, I continued to have nerve pain and my back continued to be unstable and go out following a new injury. The injections were aggravating to me anyways because it was only a band aid to whatever has been happening and I wanted solutions and long term fixes. The last time my back went out was following right after an injection. I called Dr Powers’ office desperate for answers and hoping to make another apt to assess why this instability and pain continued to occur. His nurse called me back and advised “He says there’s nothing else he can do for you”. Is that how you do things? If injections don’t work, you just throw your patients out like trash? I’ll just assume you couldn’t figure out what was going on and weren’t about to admit it. Starting to look like this is all due to my originally herniated discs and some SI joint issues from a recent injury. Thanks for Caring and helping me get that all figured out. Also, charting that you examined me at my last… visit and noting that I have negative leg raise symptoms, when I sat in the chair the entire time behind you as you say at the computer, and you didn’t lift a finger to recheck my symptoms is highly unprofessional. There was no examination... period. Horrible experience.

Very professional, does a great job explaining about upcoming surgery. Great bed side manner!
