I was diagnosed for C3-7 Fusion. Dr. Roberts and his staff at Coastal Orthopedics guided me with great confidence through the procedure and performed the surgery with the results that were desired. I would recommend him to anyone needed his expertise. Thanks Again!

After being seen as a patient of Dr. Gekht in pain management at Coastal Orthopedics, I was referred to Dr. Roberts for a consultation. After numerous x-rays, an MRI and a CT scan, Dr. Roberts presented his findings to my husband and me in an intelligent and articulate manner that was easy for us to understand. He welcomed our numerous questions and explained his recommendations for laminectomy and discectomy as well as removal of hardware from a previous failed spine surgery that was performed ten years ago while we were living in another state. Dr. Roberts was quick to point out that my case was a complicated one and he indicated that he would consult with my gastroenterologist and would include him in every aspect of my treatment. I am delighted to report that my care in the Orthopedics unit at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center was outstanding and I am now well into my successful recovery from a lengthy surgery. Dr. Roberts is a role model for other medical professionals. He… treats each patient as an individual and listens compassionately to the patient’s questions and concerns. I consider myself fortunate indeed to have Dr. Roberts on my medical team.

Dr. Roberts was great from the beginning. Advised me of every option possible before suggesting surgery. Straightforward communication and very professional. My situation, L5/S1 herniated disc after 12 months required surgery. The process was easy, everything was communicated well and any questions I had were answered. Everyone is different but my experience with Dr. Roberts was great from start to finish. Highly recommended.

Dr. Roberts is a not just a great surgeon but he takes the time to explain, in detail, the entire operation that he and his staff are about to preform. He truly cares about his patients. In the follow up office visit he showed us the before and after x-rays so we could see the improvement the operation has made in my overall heath. Thank you Dr. Roberts.

I am currently in rehab for back surgery Oct 2. Although this has been difficult, I couldn't be happier with my surgeon, the hospital (Manatee Memorial) and the physical therapy department at Coastal Orthopedic.

I’m not sure anyone enjoys being in the hospital, but I top the list of hating being there. But sometime you have no choice. I took a fall this year and made this great zombie looking hematoma on my left lower leg. She was a beauty of blues and greens and the size of a softball. Being a typical guy I said “I’ll just put ice on it and it will be fine in 2 – 3 days. Wrong. On day six I found the tell tale signs of blood poisoning. The dark streaks made ne break down and agree to go to the local walk in clinic to get this fixed. Wrong again. The clinic doc took one look and told me to get to the ER right away. RATS! The ER was a zoo and I was low priority compared to gun shot wounds and heart attacks, go figure. Friday afternoon, about 5 hours later I was in a 6 bed room with no bathroom and a bunch of sick people. “Mr. Kinder, I’m sorry but we have had a record number of ER issues and we cant assign a doctor for your leg” I’m told. Okay, I can do one night… to get this fixed. Next day, Saturday. “Mr. Kinder, I’m sorry but we have had a record number of ER issues and we cant assign a doctor for your leg” I’m told again. I’m going crazy. Next day, Sunday, they are not sure if they will get a doctor free this day ether, it is a Sunday after all. So I call my friends at Coastal Orthopedics to see if I could get this thing drained in their office. So I get the answer service and tell them the situation. This was not an orthopedics issue, this was a suck the blood out issue but I was ready to jump out the 6th floor window at this point. Amazing quick, my phone rings and Dr Timothy Roberts is on the line. I had met him before to look at my neck after an accident. I tell him I am going to turn Hulk and escape the hospital if I have to not-sleep another night. His response… “Okay, I’ll come in and do it for you.” Rainbows and the sounds of angles fill the bleach scented room. Three hour later I am in an OR, 2 hours after that, my leg no longer looks like one of Shrek’s and the tiny 1.5” cut has a pain factor of .07 on a one to ten. Dr. Roberts not only went out of his way to help a Coastal patient, but also did an outstanding job fixing the problem. This is service over and above expectations. Coastal Orthopedics have replace 2 of my knees (with great results), follow up care after accident and now I can add, kept me sane at a time I wanted to go ‘Bakersfield Monkey’ on the world. Thank you for caring as much for your customers as you do running a successful orthopedics office. Dr. Roberts went above and beyond getting me though a tough time.

Dr. Roberts is a wonderful surgeon but more importantly than that he cares about his patients. When we first met him he spent more than 45 minutes with us discussing my case. After surgery I had a reason to call his assistant and surprisingly Dr. Roberts actually got on the phone with me. Dr. Roberts reminds me of how doctors used to be way back in the day. And that is refreshing!!! His assistant Audrey is also amazing. I highly recommend Dr. Roberts to anyone needing orthopedic care.
