Dr. Timothy Danforth Root, MD

As a fellow healthcare worker, I was floored at how rude the entire Riverview Health Urgent Care in Westfield was. I came in for a problem that was causing a significant amount of pain and was incredibly uncomfortable. I waited for two hours and he spoke to me for two minutes after roughly palpating and spreading the tender area. He gave me antibiotics and then just referred me to a specialist. Took two hours just for that. I am incredibly disappointed with the team working here and will not be returning.

Doctor Root was very short with me. He asked me maybe 2 questions. And was going to do a procedure without even explaining to me what he was going to do. I am a single mom of 3 I had the procedure he was going to do done once already and it did not work so when I told him to not do it he got upset and stormed out of the room to call my OBGYN. He did not return for 20 minutes was still very short with me and finished giving instructions as he was walking. Out of the door. If I ever need to go to the ER again I will make sure he isn’t there or choose a different hospital other than riverview. I love Riverview hospital. I have went there for everything. Even drove extra time while in labor because I think so highly of the hospital. But they made a poor choice with DR Root.

I got stuck with this jerk during a serious emergency. He treated me like I was wasting his time. I had just moved to the area and will NEVER return to this hospital. Since then, I have heard 4 other stories of how he abuses his patients like they are beneath him. I followed up with another doc and they were not pleased with his careless decisions.

This doctor spent very little time with me, approximately 2 minutes. All he did was prescribe pain killers and steroids for my pain. He barely looked at my records and did not even check to see what medications I am on. Dr. Root should be renamed Dr. Rude. He was also rude to my wife.

Poor excuse for a Dr. no communications skill at all. Should not be treating people.
