Dr. Timothy Shane Shaw, MD

Dr Shaw is a great surgeon. He did a total knee replacement on my right knee. Doctors in Houston say my implant is fine. My concerns with Dr Shaw are that he does not know how to handle complaints of pain before and after surgery. He cannot troubleshoot! Nor will he refer you to another doctor when he doesn’t know the answer to your complaint. I regret staying with him longer than I should have. His office staff is what broke the camels back for me. They are awful and Dr Shaw defers to them and supports their ineptitudes. They are a small office in a small town and have small town hours and mentality. They don’t care how much pain you are in and will schedule you when there is an opening. They also triple book appointments. It has been over a year since my surgery and I am still in pain. In addition to that I have had to see four other doctors (capable doctors) to deal with after surgery issues and pain. I would refer Dr Shaw for small joint issues but that is all.

I have been referred twice to this doctor. The first time I had broke my ankle in two places and he couldn’t get me in before two weeks. The second time my primary sent in a referral and they didn’t call, I had to call them. Then waited 1 1/2 hrs to get in. My follow up appointment they canceled because I needed just a week to get payment arranged. No empathy for the pain I was in.

Greed vs care. Use another doctor

We call him our family orthopedic doctor, because so many of us (5) have used his services, especially joint replacement and others his expertise in bone health.

Dr. Shaw had to rebuild my ankle and lower leg recently. Dr. Shaw did a wonderful job, and I am most happy with it. Dr. Shaw was most kind and very attentive to my questions and needs. Dr. Shaw has a great personality and put me at ease right away. Dr. Shaw's staff was most helpful and kind as well. Thank you Dr. Shaw for taking such good care of me.
