Dr. Timothy Lamon Sternberg, MD

What a Doctor! What a Man! What a Doctor!! I cannot say enough positive things about Dr. Timothy Sternberg. Because of the type of pain that I was having in my spine; Dr. Timothy Owens, my neurologist, introduced me to Dr. Sternberg. From the very beginning, he took time to truly listen and to personally acknowledge the severity f my condition and the impact it has had on my life. That alone allowed me to place confidence in him. As my pain management doctor, Dr. Sternberg ordered several tests that diagnosed me with spinal stenosis and other problems. With a loving nature, kindness, and empathy, he informed me that in order to get relief of my pain, I needed an injection. After extensive explanation, he ensured I understood the process and felt supported every step of the way. He asked his assistant, APRN Amy Paugh, to make immediate scheduling. I felt secure with Dr. Sternberg and Amy working together. Over the years, he has been consistent, compassionate,… and deeply committed to providing the highest level of care. He doesn’t take a one-size-fits-all approach. He has thoughtfully adjusted treatment plans and even his schedule to meet my specific needs. One instance is when I was having excruciating pain, (he had given me his personal number) I called him but he informed me that he was out of the country and would call within two days. By phone, he diagnosed my complaint and called Amy for her to pre-op me and schedule a day for me at Coastline Spine and Pain. A most recent instance is when he made a sacrifice for me. He left his job at the Naval Air Base and drove to my location to administer an epidural. I’m sure he was tired; but if he was, he didn’t show it. Thanks to Dr. Sternberg’s dedication and skill, I have felt supported for years and confident that I am receiving excellent care. I am incredibly grateful for his professionalism, empathy, and consistency. I would recommend him without hesitation to anyone seeking a physician who genuinely cares about patients.

Dr Sternberg has treated me for Trigeminal Neurolgia at least 4 times now. I must tell you sometimes I am in a panic when I speak to him, scared about ‘if’ the pain will come back. I’ll never forget the last time I was afraid, he told me to live my life, enjoy and don’t be afraid, that the pain would come back and he will be right here ready to tackle it. And he has been. I have his cell number and text him when it does come back. He gets right on it and I’m in the office seeing him usually less than a week. I trust him implicitly. Thank you Dr Sternberg, for never giving up even when the nerve is stubborn.

Dr. Sternberg became my pain management doctor seven years ago when I made the move from Wisconsin to Florida and I am so grateful that I did. I really feared the move and finding someone who would treat me with respect and take the time to get to know me and my condition. He has from the first visit always made me feel valued. I have never been treated as just a number, or someone less because of my issues. He has fully discussed treatments and preformed many procedures in an attempt to help me over the years, and when they did not work, he has not given up. I first met Dr. Sternberg years ago when he treated my wife. Then I started having back problem and went to him for myself. After my last back surgery three years ago the pain just would not go away. Dr. Sternberg tried everything. One week and one day past Dr. Sternberg implanted a stimulator and it has taken over 95 percent of the pain away. I now can walk fast enough to raise my heart rate without terrible pain.Thank you Doc for giving me my life back.

Dr. Sternberg is a wonderful doctor. He is skilled and also takes the time to talk to you about how you are feeling and to explain treatments. I have been seeing him for over 10 years and cannot imagine seeing anyone else.
