Dr. Throgmorton: arrogant, dismissive, belittling and cold. My doctor had directed me to the ED due to allergic reaction to new meds…and intense pain from pinched nerve in neck (diagnosed by my own doctor)…I was exhausted and in pain yet came completely prepared with documented notes and meds which he dismissed as he was speaking to me in a belittling tone that made me feel I was wasting his time. He told me there was nothing he could do and that I just needed to go home and ride it out. I left with more distress and pain then when I arrived. The rest of the staff in the ED were stellar.

Took my son into Ascension ER recently. He was in terrible pain, scared and anxious. Dr.Throgmorton spent maybe 20 minutes with him. In that time, he diagnosed the issue, decided treatment which involved making an incision to drain blood, reprimanded me twice for asking him to address my son’s pain, said a handful of words to us about what he was doing and fled the scene. No time for questions, didn’t explain after care and never returned to the room. We had arrived around 815am. and were discharged by 850am. He never followed up with test results. Stellar guy.

If you want subpar care, he’s your man. He’ll be sure to treat you as the dollar sign and annoyance you are to him.

No show of drama, attitude, or ego. Just professionally calm & caring. Explained everything clearly in easy to understand terms. I was shivering with chills & nervous and mentioned the nurse said I couldn’t have a blanket due to fever (low grade). He looked at my chart & personally went & got me two warm blankets!
