Timothy Yu, MD, PhD

Dr. Timothy Yu is an attending physician in the Division of Genetics and Genomics at Boston Children’s Hospital and an associate professor of pediatrics at Harvard Medical School who specializes in neurogenetics, genomic medicine, autism genetics, and rare pediatric neurologic diseases. Internationally recognized for his pioneering work in individualized genetic therapies, Dr. Yu helped develop one of the world’s first patient-specific antisense oligonucleotide treatments for a child with a rare neurodegenerative disorder, advancing the field of precision medicine. He earned his undergraduate degree from Harvard College and completed both his MD and PhD in neuroscience at the University of California, San Francisco, followed by neurology residency training at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital and fellowship training in neurodevelopmental genetics at Massachusetts General Hospital and Boston Children’s Hospital.
