Dr. Tina Chadha Bunch, MD

I had a negative experience with Dr. Bunch, finding her to be very curt, rude, cold, and dismissive. During our first visit, which was rather short, she asked very few questions, did a very minimal exam and bent my wrist a little, seemed to question my personal reporting, and jumped straight to a lip biopsy to determine if I had Sjogren's, which was very challenging for me and my medical trauma & anxiety. Her bedside manner truly left something to be desired and I am now looking for a new rheumatologist who is kind, curious, and empathic because she was none of these.

Waited months for an appointment with this doctor and she was immediately rude and dismissive. Made me feel like I was inconveniencing her and wouldn't even let me finish explaining my symptoms. This is the type of doctor that makes the profession look bad. Seriously, why become a doctor if you can't even be a decent person?

Horrible doctor. Needs to be exorcised by a catholic priest. Why would they allow her to practice? She needs to be monitored by another Physician so she can control her awful behavior. "Do no harm they say" She has the ability to destroy people and their lives. Disgusted.

Bunch may be intellectually qualified to be a doctor, but as a person with no heart she has no business seeing patients. She is rude, dismissive and insulting. She will make you feel like your questions are stupid and that you are wasting her time. She is condescending and will even roll her eyes at you and shrug her shoulders. Worst bedside manner ever! She’s a horrible human being.

Awful, My primary care doctor suspected an autoimmune condition and referred me here. 2 tests were run and she stuck me on cancer meds. When there was no improvement after 8 weeks I told here I refused to take any further medications until she could give me some idea of what we were treating. She essentially told me to find a new doctor if I didn't want treatment.

While Dr. Tina Bunch is fabulous, it's very hard to reach someone in the Far West office. Guess they have had some turnover & now it is almost impossible to reach a person.

Clearly articulated the medical issue and provided advice that was easy to understand. Easy to talk to and thorough in researching medical history before advising. Very impressed.

I've been seeing Dr. Bunch for several years now, having been dx with Familial Mediterranean Fever. My 1st impression was that she couldn't care one bit about her role and even less about her patients. It'll take roughly 2-3 months to get an appt and she gives me on avg. 5-10 minutes of her time. On avg I wait 25min in the exam room. She'll then enter without any kind of greeting. No shaking my hand or even so much as a smile or slightest expression of warmth. Of the 10 minutes she'll give me, 7 minutes are spent staring at her screen. FMF is a rare, painfully debilitating and potentially fatal disease if left untreated. 98% of cases are dx by age 3 or 4 but general health and regular check ups were never prioritized in my family growing up. I'm now 40 yrs old and was dx 3yrs ago which means I've lived a lifetime dealing with that debilitating pain. Without any external sign of the disease in it's earlier stages my family was always very dismissive, even annoyed at even the slightest… expression of concern or pain. This of course grew into a complex that dominated most all of my life, keeping me from ever again mentioning my FMF, even after the symptoms got much much worse and clearly visible like the huge swelling of my joints or having fevers over 100 degrees more often than in a given year. And despite all this I became very reluctant of mentioning any of it; that is until my dx of FMF. The symptoms became too severe to ignore so I dedicated an entire summer making appts with docs of every specialization I could from neurologists to cardiologists, gastro to internal medicine specialists and finally Dr. Bunch. After 3 appts with her, we still had no answers till, as I was exiting her office at the end of last appt, I said that I guess my brother and I will never know. that final clue at the last moment led her to send a blood sample to the Mayo Clinic on a hunch resulting in my dx of FMF. If she spent more than a few minutes with me and asked anything about my background at all she would have found that right away but she makes you feel so stupid anytime you try to ask a question or share any of your own insights, looking past you, even rolling her eyes. She got me on Colchicine, the standard treatment, and two weeks later while taking a walk tears started running down my cheeks. For the first time ever I didn't experience the horrible pain that usually accompanied me every time I walked. Given my complex, it never even occurred to me that this was the experience of an avg individual. There had been so many times throughout my life where I had to convince myself that the pain I was experiencing while doing even the simplest of things was in fact normal and that I dare not complain. I do appreciate her finding the right dx and yet I noticed something all to familiar in the manner of care she was providing me. Following my dx I had a myriad of questions that after so many years I finally felt permitted to ask but to my total shock, she regarded both me and my questions in exactly the same dismissive manner as my family had all those years, disregarding or shooting down any and all concerns I'd mention. I noticed my complex resurfacing even after having a dx and once again I found myself unwilling to trust my better instincts so I asked my wife to join me during my last appt for a second opinion. She too was incredibly shocked at Dr. Bunch's dismissiveness and couldn't believe her total apathy and her rush to finish the appt. I recently had my first grand mal seizure and am dx with epilepsy as well. So again i had more questions to ask of Dr. Bunch and once again she dismissed them out of hand then saying "well the typical treatment is supposed to be..... so that's what I'll be prescribing you", doubling my dose of colchicine and saying my only other option is a shot I'd have to self administer monthly for the rest of my life costing of $100,000/yr and yet she said this with complete apathy sounding bored and annoyed at my surprise. Given the new dx of epilepsy, I was hoping my neurologist and Dr. Bunch could consult each other for a more thorough treatment plan. My neuro said he reached out to her but received very little to nothing in return back. Even as I write this her office has me on hold 22 min. A friend reached out to me recently about my FMF. Her son has been dx tho inconclusively and she hoped to compare our labs. I logged onto my online medical record only to find that Dr. Bunch hasn't listed my FMF anywhere at all. Every note she did post was the default commentary for any lab work or test result and she likely didn't type anything out herself given the wording was exactly the same for the dozens of tests I've for her over the years, and falsley stating all was normal. So I called the nurse and was told that because the lab work was done at the May Clinic, it didn't automatically get recorded to my record, meaning she didn't notate any of the results after receiving the results from the Mayo.

She will really listen to you and become your advocate. She has given me great referrals when other specialists have failed me. I trust her 100%!

Our family moved here recently from the midwest. I have been treated for Ankylosing Spondylitis for 8 years and had my records transferred to Dr. Bunch before my appointment. As she reviewed my records with me, Dr. Bunch repeatedly noted how many surgeries I have had. She stated that she had all of the office notes from my rheumatologist, but none of the xrays to prove that my diagnosis was correct. She was dismissive of my doctor's care of me and stated that she couldn't understand how he had gotten the dose of my consentyx "approved" as it wasn't the standard dosage used for AS. She made me feel like I needed to justify my diagnosis and treatment plan to her. She was not empathetic, dismissive of my concerns, and rough in physical examination. She kept pointing out that I have many signs of osteo-arthritis which is a secondary diagnosis. I will be seeking a new rheumatologist with better communication and bedside skills. VERY DISAPPOINTING.
