Dr. Todd William Bannen, MD

Zero stars for him at Good Shepherd Hospital. I came in with complete paralysis on the entire side of my right body from head to toe with vision loss and extreme pain that I would rate a 10. After being told my symptoms, he spent no more than 2 minutes with me and was just going to send me home with a pack of small dose steroids stating that it was just bell palsy. When he left and the nurse came in to give me my discharge papers, feeling very uncomfortable with this and knowing this was not right, I asked her if it was normal for bell palsy to cause full right side of the body and she then turned white and before I knew it a stroke unit was sent in. Turned out I had a major lesion on my thalamus and smaller, but significant, lesions on other parts of my brain and spine. I was then immediately flooded with strong medicines including, 1,000 mg of of steroids and then admitted into the hospital. By the way, he never addressed my pain and when I was admitted to the hospital the nurse up… there heard that I was in agonizing pain she immediately came back with morphine for me. I spent the next week in the hospital with a daily dose of 1,000 mg of steroids and morphine given every few hours. I can’t even imagine how bad it could have gotten had I been sent home with his small pack of steroids for his incompetent diagnosis for bell palsy. *And shame on Good Shepherd for sending me a very offensive survey towards nurses. Every question asked was based on the nurses’ performance and absolutely nothing about the doctor’s.

Condescending, lacking empathy, and not terribly interested in treating patients like human beings. Run (If you can), the minute this "doctor" enters the room. He is very unprofessional and quite lazy when it comes to diagnosing a patient. I have never, EVER dealt with a worse "physician" than this man. Please, if you have a choice, and this guy is one of them, choose someone else.

I had three EKG’s on the way to the hospital. Dr. Banner noticed something in me that wasn’t on those tests. Had I gone home I would not be writing this

Extremely condescending. Took blood work and then didn’t process it for results until we asked hours later. Felt like a number, rather than a person. Lack of compassion. Poor listener. As a nurse with more than 40 years of experience, he’s a true disappointment to the medical community.

My wife went to the ER in Galena and this clown of a doctor was the one on duty. My wife has crohns and in such pain and he wasn't going to give her pain medicine until I got in his face and then gave her very little medicine to my wife And said some people have to live with chronic pain. We requested then to be transferred to Mercy in Dubuque IA and the DR who we had a number of times DR Jones immediately gave her the pIn medicine to relieve the pain she gets with crohns. My wife pain was a 10. The worse in 5 years. I would not ever recommend anyone under this clown of a doctor. He should be stripped of his licence. No one should use this todd bannon. His first words were you know pain medicine won't curse crohns. My wife was then released one day later from Mercy and doing well. I can't even put a score for this todd bannen. I would give a minus ten. Plse dont use this DR. He is terrible.
