Coerced into procedure as "preventative". Ignored blatant signs of complication. ER and surgery w 3 days in hospital. Stent placed w different practice, in chronic pain and ruined me. Biggest mistake as I was fine prior to his unnecessary intervention.

I am a patient with NYU Langone. All of my care is done with the facility including my PCP. Therefore, I decided to see about having some work done on my varicose veins. When I first met Dr. Berland for a consultation he appeared...again appeared very nice. When he was done with the treatment I now have a permanent scar that I did not have before I met Dr. Berland. He is very uncaring and has no compassion. His behavior during the procedure was appalling. I need to look into taking further action for my pain and suffering. I no longer wear the nice dresses as I used too in the past.

After my second child my body was not the same. Forget about exhaustion and baby weight, I had awful protruding veins in both legs as a result of pregnancy and also working in the restaurant business for 15 years prior. Dr. Berland was amazing. He is professional and makes you feel at home. During the surgery he wanted to make sure that I was not feeling any pain and that I was comfortable. He is quick and efficient and really cares about his patients. The results are superb. I highly recommend him!

My friend Mark Greenberg was operated on by Dr. Berland and all I can say is that he is a rock star of vascular surgery. He takes time to prepare the patient for surgery giving all of the pros and cons in great detail. After the surgery is completed he comes and explains exactly what was done. He does not speak doctor speak which is quite amazing, but explains in detail everything that happened in lay mans terms. He returns phone calls and his team is amazing. I feel I can write this review since I was there for all post op and and pre op appointments and Doctor Berland took the time to answer my questions. Hopefully I will not need his services, but if I have a vascular problem I will be making be line to his office. Donna Dinstman

Dr. Berland doesn't deserve a license to practice medicine. I went to see him regarding left leg edema and a variety of issues conerning sores and inflammation. After I submitted to an ultrasound test to determine how my circulation was, the doctor came in. His manner was more or less that I had 3 minutes and that I had to talk quickly. He refused to hear the history of my problem, which was important to reaching a diagnosis. He said with minimal consideration that the ultrasound showed my veins to be good - but that I had the same symptoms of poor veins and circulation, that I compression stockings would be the answer to everything. As to my questions that he wouldn't take time to discuss, he invited me to follow up by e-mail. When I sent him an e-mail that evening, he responded by asking me what telephone number he could reach me at in the morning - but never called. In sohrt, a sorry excuse for a doctor.
