While Dr. Hill may be new to Southern California, he has been practicing psychiatry for nearly 20 years and is board certified in General Psychiatry by the American Academy of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Dr. Hill received his undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas and a Master’s in Biology from the University of New Mexico. After meeting his wife Viola, and starting a family of two daughters, Dr. Hill came back to the Midwest where he received his medical degree from the University of Health Sciences-College of Osteopathic Medicine Kansas City. He then attended and completed his residency in General Psychiatry at the University of Kansas Medical Center.

Throughout his medical career, Dr. Hill owned his own private practice for 10 years, was on staff as a consultation psychiatrist for multiple Kansas City hospitals, and served as the Medical Director of Psychiatric Services at one of the largest hospitals in the Kansas City Metro area. Additionally, Dr. Hill served as …Assistant Professor and Department Chair of Psychiatry at his alma mater, Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences.

Dr. Hill believes in common sense psychiatry and cutting-edge treatment alternatives, which includes providing patients with as much information as possible about their illness. His own personal philosophy when approaching patient care is “with more education, there would be less medication.

Outstanding physician! My wife saw him while in the hospital. He had an excellent bedside manner and communication skills. He took the time to get to know you as a person and carefully explain all the information. We would highly recommend!

He was the sloppiest dressed Doctor I had ever met. He was unshaven, had long stringy hair, and a plaid flannel,shirt. I was totally disgusted and will never go back or recommend him to anyone. He was so unprofessional I can't believe he is allowed to,practice at all.

These three words characterize Dr. Todd Hill. They are the founding principles that guide his practice, and they form the standard to which his colleagues at Northland Psychiatric Services adhere.Too many psychiatrists regard patients as mere biological vehicles for a diagnosis. Todd Hill is a healer. He treats people, not illnesses. I feel fortunate to call him my doctor and am grateful for his guidance, expertise, support and help. Although he rarely accepts new patients, Dr. Hill is an influential mentor to his fellow practitioners at NPS; I would not hesitate to recommend their services. The office staff are kind and proficient - and rightly recognized as indispensable.

I was honored to have had Dr. Hill see me while recently hospitalized at NKC Hospital. I was so impressed with his bedside manner and professionalism that I tried to get an appointment to set up with him as my Psychiatrist. The only set-back is that he is so popular that he is not accepting new patients. If there were anyway possible for me to be able to see him I would jump through hoops to do so. Waiting for an opening won't work for me because I am in dire need of his services now, not 6 months from now.

Dr. Hill has always been very caring and genuine. He has always been willing to spend as much time with me to answer my questions. He is the best psychiatrist I've ever had.
