Dr. Todd Jeffrey Janus, MD

Spent 10 minutes with Dr Janus for migraines, was told I needed extreme psychiatric care. After the visit I was told he is not a nice person. I agree with that. Avoid this Dr if at all possible

He ran many, many unnecessary and painful tests. He wasted my time and money telling me he could not figure out what was wrong with me after many visits and sent me away worse off than when I first saw him. After one visit with a knowledgeable neurologist at the U if I, I finally was diagnosed and received the treatment/medication I needed. I would not send my worst enemy to him.

Dr. Janus answered some of my questions, and is still waiting for test results to be able to fully address the headaches, if possible. I appreciate that his first response is to look for a cause, rather than prescribe a pill.

Dr. Janus has always been good. He listens, tells me what I need to hear and gives advice on how to deal with my MS. Along with his nurse Edna, they are a good team. Dr. Janus will talk in layman's terms, which is what I like/need. He has a good sense of humor.

Had no communication ability. Fortunately I went for a second opinion and found out he was totally wrong in his diagnosis. I am well on my way to feeling much better. He is an embarrassment to the Unity Point Clinic.

This was my first appointment with Dr. Janus after moving to Iowa from the East coast. I have MS and was under a neurologist's care on the East coast and needed to continue my care with a neurologist in Iowa.

perhaps he was having a bad day (the one time i met with him), but here are several reasons why i will not go back to dr. todd janus: he did not wash his hands before the procedure (emg, which drew blood - i could feel and later see little streams of blood running down my body - and after which i needed to ask for bandaids so my clothes wouldn't get blood on them). he didn't explain the procedure. he didn't tell me that it would hurt so bad that i would cry (and, in my head, cuss). he did not ask why i was there nor explain how the procedure could help with a diagnosis. he did not tell me an initial finding; i had to ask for it and even then his answer was four words. when i asked a follow-up question, he said, "i don't know" and left the room (he was there maybe five minutes total). before the procedure began, he had to ask someone to get the monitor/equipment to the proper screen. (edited to add: it seems i must give a rating. i will give the lowest rating -… one star. if i could give zero stars, i would.) nope ... will not go back to him. best wishes to anyone who does.

Dr Janus is a million times better than dr Hughes of mercy. 4 years relapse free and can fit me in next day requests!

Dr Janus make me feel very comfortable and answers my questions completely and understandable! Great Dr. and happy to have him in Ankeny!!

My husband and I met with Dr Janus for the first appointment when he explained what my MRI results meant. We discussed possible symptoms and he dismissed almost everything that I noticed and I later found out he was wrong. We also talked about treatment options and he wanted me to decide on one before my next appointment. All in all he wasn't very sympathetic or caring. My second appointment was at a different location and he had a resident doctor he was explaining everything to as well. He went over all the same stuff he explained before and I realized that he didn't remember me, and he continued until I said, "Yep, that's what you said last time" and he apologized but I was still upset. He told me to choose my medications again and he had me take the pamphlets home even though I already knew what one I wanted. I showed up for my next appointment and was waiting for him when the nurse returned telling me he had to reschedule me... This was my first post treatment appointment and I was… already in the room. I couldn't believe that I was pushed away for that appointment. Next appointment I expressed my concerns that I thought it was important and that I wasn't given the attention that I deserved since I was just recently diagnosed. Some of my issues were again ignored and next appointment... CANCELED. I received a letter in the mail that he has to reschedule me again. NO. I. AM. DONE.
