Dr. Todd E Ransford, PhD

I, and many others, were gravely harmed by Dr. Ransford. He was found guilty by the Oregon Board of Pyscological Examiners. Thank goodness.

I am not one who typically wears his emotions on his sleeve, however I would like to provide a contrary perspective regarding Dr. Todd Ransford. Like many people, I had a custody evaluation conducted in 2013 that did not go in my favor for multiple reasons. Rather than bash the previous evaluator (where it is easy to have resentment), my approach will be different. Prior to Dr. Ransford's therapy sessions, I would done exactly what others have said in their reviews. This is a testament to the results I have seen in my life under his care. In any event, it was extremely hard to process the aftermath post my custody evaluation. I felt distraught, saddened, emotionally destroyed, frustrated, and not believing in the system. I recall my first therapy session with Dr. Ransford where to my own disbelief couldn't control sobbing in my first session (uncharacteristic of me). Instead of judging me or providing me advice, he got out of his chair and just hugged me. I couldn't… believe a "stranger" genuinely could perform such a deed. That was my first interaction. Then there was an issue with my insurance carrier delaying payments for his services. Yet again, he was patient and continued to conduct therapy session until resolution occurred. This is the type of man and principles Todd Ransford embodies - placing his client's emotional needs ahead. Fast forward to now, Dr. Ransford has been providing therapy for almost 5 years. His level of integrity, guidance, and coaching to me in my life has been an emotional nourishment that has yielded me the necessary skills to cope with various situations that have arisen since my initial custody evaluation. He is extremely well versed in the legal system, psychology, and rather than prescribe advice he listens and helps guide people down plausible paths. As a result, I have learned how to cope and make decisions affecting issues that cause me anxiety. He was also extremely invaluable in therapy when I was working with Dr. Edward Vien during parent coordination and had to deal with very complex predicaments that surrounded my children and ex-wife. On multiple occasions information being provided during our PC sessions was disingenuous and my children were being negatively impacted. Without Dr. Ransford's council, most likely I would have taken the wrong path and exacerbated an already tense situation. Finally, there have been instances where I felt I couldn't cope and waiting for my next therapy session seemed light years away. Dr. Ransford without hesitation was flexible doing a phone session even outside of office hours. My experience with Dr. Ransford has shown me he thinks outside-of-the-box. He does not take information at face value, but analyzes all angles with sound judgment. This is especially key when conducting an custody evaluation, parent coordination, or therapy. He is fair, compassionate, intelligent, personable, and forgive me for saying a "real person" free from arrogance. He exhibits a level of humility that is refreshing. I hope others reading this review will understand while reading negative ones, seldom people take the time to write a positive one. It is human nature when one feels an injustice, to look for a way to seek retribution. However I felt compelled to provide my perspective since Dr. Ransford has inspired me and changed my life. For that, I am forever grateful.
