Dr. Tomas Friedrich, MD

Went there for weight loss he prescribed the medicine out of the office ! Hmmm? This place is way over priced for the services also and there rude and staff is not friendly my autistic child went with me once and was watching my phone while I was getting blood pressure done she wasn’t loud at all but the doctor yelled at her in a very stern rude voice saying BE QUIET! That really made me very mad becauese she wasn’t doing any wrong he just wanted to complain I guess ! Anyways I do not recommend! Oh and if your a min late they reschedule you and charge you for the appointment. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE !!

I have gone to Dr. Friedrich for about 20 years. I had moved from Virginia in 2000 and was suffering from a sinus infection. Dr. Friedrich treated it, carefully assessing whether it was bacterial or viral. As I usually get the bacterial kind, Dr. Freidrich prescribed antibiotics that handled it. I am plagued with this sinus condition where I get an infection every 2 or 3 years. Together Friedrich and I worked out a scheme of saline rinsing ("snorting" I call it) that ameliorates the symptoms. Dr. Friedrich's practice involves dermatology. Over the years Dr. Friedrich removed dark skin growths that he feared were precancerous. Done professionally and skillfully. About 15 years ago Dr. Friedrich observed the increasing levels of cholesterol. When diet and exercise didn't do it, Dr. Friedrich prescribed and then tailored the dosage for daily statins. First he prescribed vytorin. When he read about the some questionable results of its effectiveness, he quickly switched me… to simvastatin. It has worked for me. Some statins have unpleasant side effects such as muscle weakness. I have never experienced this. It may be because I try to exercise regularly, and that may counteract any muscle weakness. I am sorry to learn that Dr. Friedrich is retiring. He has a nice patient manner.

I will never be back nor could I ever recommend this office. To start, when I called to make an appointment to have a wart on my foot removed, they didnt tell me my visit would only be an initial consultation and I'd have to schedule another appointment months down the road to actually have the wart removed. Then I finally make it to my appointment day for them to tell me that now it's going to take two different visits to remove because it's two warts that aren't directly beside each other. Why wouldn't they have seen that during the first visit that I paid for? My first visit was clearly just a way for them to charge me money to fill out their forms and Dr. Tomas clearly didnt even look at my foot.... fast forward 3 months, the warts are back in the EXACT same spot!!! Three office visits and hundred of dollars later ($544 out-of-pocket to be exact), I'm left scheduling a 4th visit. When I asked if I would be charged for removing a wart from the exact same spot a 3 months later, Dr.… Tomas basically laughed as he said YES. For what seems like such a simple thing, this has been incredibly frustrating. Never again at this practice!!!

I have been going to this doctor for quite some time. Months ago I missed an appointment and I was charged for missing the appointment. Afterwards, when I rescheduled and went to my appointment the doctor asked me why he hasn’t seen me in a while and I explained that I was low on cash and did not have the money for my co-pay. He stressed to me that I would have to pay that today. I then looked at him and told him That I was prepared to pay for my appointment and for the charge He had given me when I missed my previous appointment. When we walked out to the nurses station to check out he looked directly at the nurse and said make sure that she pays for today and the missed appointment charge. I just finish telling him that I was prepared to pay that!!!! That has started a cycle of unprofessionalism and disrespect during my appointments. I have since been to at least three appointments and every appointment he talks to me in a very demeaning manner especially if he feels I am not… following his directives to a T. My last visit was him, he was very rude to the point were even his nurses were shaking their heads and they constantly kept apologizing to me before I left the building. But I decided to give him one more try today and I couldn’t regret it more. As I was explaining to him the ongoing situation that I am dealing with he cuts me off and just prescribed another medication, his tone when speaking to me was rude as if I was irritating him. He wouldn’t even fill out my FMLA paperwork, He made me fill those out myself. I became upset and I respectfully told him that I don’t appreciate the manner in which he speaks to me, that I come to him for my medical needs and he is very rude and disrespectful when he speaks to me. He began to argue with me and when I told him “ look at the way you’re talking to me. I’m not arguing with you I’m just bringing something to your attention “ it got to the point where he ended up using profanity with me. At that point I decided to leave and when I went out to the nurses station, even his nurse was shaking her head and apologizing to me. He came out still yelling at me and then said to me , “ Do you want your meds yes or no” As he threatened to make me leave his office. I know for a fact that I can’t just quit taking the medications that he has me on because I’ll have side effects so I said yes. He spoke to me like i was some drug seeking addict. I’m switching doctors for sure now and will be filing a complaint. Do Not go to him!

Dr. Friedrich and his staff have always treated me with kindness and professionalism. During a serious illness, he and the staff were encouraging and helpful in many ways. I am grateful for all of them as a part of a support system that helped me through a very difficult time.

I have been going to Dr. Friedrich for 16 years now, and can say he is very professional and thorough in my care. He has found cancerous moles twice and removed them, and treated me for numerous health problems. Dr. Friedrich listens to what I have to say and has sent me to a specialist as needed. His staff is very friendly and helpful as well. I would recommend going to him in a heartbeat.
