The humbleness in his heart to want to save every life he can, is empowering. With the help of God, he preformed a miracle on my friend. He provided detailed answers and information to the family. Always made rounds to say Hi and check up on the patient. A 13 hour surgery that was a success!! Thank you Dr. Martin for your caring HEART!!!

My mother underwent early morning aortic aneurysm surgery with Dr. Martin. We waited for news of the surgery's progress for ten hours without any information as to it's progress from staff. In the late afternoon Dr. Martin emerged and gave us a status. He said my mother had been placed on a pump/heart assistance machine. He said he would give us another update in the morning. In the morning we were informed Dr. Martin had gone on vacation. We did not hear from him again until a week after my mother's funeral and two weeks after her surgery. His explanation at that time as to what transpired was very poor. In the interim between my mother's surgery and her death six days later, we were informed of many malfunctions with respect to the Shands cardiac pump/machines including hers. The machines would break down intermittently forcing all sorts of ad hoc solutions. I would not personally utilize a teaching hospital. I would suggest a private hospital.

I was airlifted to Shands where Dr. Martin took me under his care. I couldn't have had better care or a more skilled Cardiologist. Highly recommend!

Dr. Martin operated on my mother for an aneurysm. The procedure took ten hours. When he finished he let my family know he was tired and would follow up with us the next day. We did not hear from him for two weeks. He went on vacation and did not tell us in advance. My mother died on her birthday in CICU several days later. Shands is exempt from legal liability as it's a state university. Beware.

Dr Martin performed major heart surgery on my husband and saved his life. While other surgeons refused to operate because my husband was high risk, Dr Martin operated and gave my husband a new life. God bless this amazing and humble man.

My husband was airlifted to Orlando, FL so Dr Martin could operate and try to save my husband. Our local heart surgeons in Fort Myers, FL only gave him a 50% chance of survival. Dr Martin told us he could give him a 85% chance. Dr Martin operated for over 12 hrs and saved his life. I will forever be grateful to God for leading us to this outstanding surgeon. Dr Martin will always have a special place in my heart.

Dr Martin was great. But the day before my surgery, I was told I would have another Dr, one whom I had never met. No explanition as why Dr Martin would not do the surgery. I had reseached Dr Martin for 3 months and he was everything I thought he would be but I am very upset that Dr Martin has given me no reason or apology no word at all! The Dr that did do the surgery was very good and I am doing well now. Please, Dr martin, respect our wishes. I was counting on you!! Spent no time with me and no follow up visit
