I came to him as a last resort, and while I think he's a great human being, I would not recommend him to a loved one who is suffering. I feel his intentions are good and is a good doctor who made a slight attempt to help, I also felt he gave up on me when his way wasn't working. Having years of experience working in healthcare, I feel he's lacking a bunch of qualities one would look for in a doctor and one in his field especially. I don't dislike him, I think he's great and funny and does what he feels will help for his patients, I just have never been treated in such ways ever by a physician and felt he wasn't living up to his oath and exploring any and all options available, except trying to pass the buck to someone else. Just my two cents. I can't find reviews on him at UPMC and I'd just hope that other people have had great experiences and perhaps it's just a clash of sorts - I wouldn't want to deter anyone from seeing him. I think he has great potential from what I've seen, he… just needs to learn how to build a foundation with a patient, by simply asking him or her a few questions and making one feel that their time/questions/reason for being there all just as important as his time and his treatment. In my experience, I think if he listened more to me, treated me like an individual and not a part of some group / statistic without taking any time to ask me anything more than a quick how are you, he would have further understood that you can't categorize everyone because we are all different.
