Dr. Tony Tong Wing Lee, MD

I was admitted to Winter Park Hospital for dehydration, and nothing more. Because they have the "hospitalist" program, Dr. Lee became my "primary," even though I already have a primary physician. He was in charge of my care. Immediatly there was a sign put on my door saying infectious disease. I had no infectious disease, I was simply dehydrated. The next thing I knew my room was flooded with doctors I did not know, had never seen in my life and test after test after test was ordered. On day 7 after a nightmare experience my husband and I said we were done and we were going home. All the other doctors, except Dr. Lee signed off on my discharge. Dr. Lee not only refused to sign the discharge papers, he said, "you will be back in two days." This is when I lost it, and said he could either sign the discharge or I would leave AMA. I finally got discharge papers, but upon returning home and looking at the paper work, I learned that Dr. Lee did not sign the papers, the charge nurse… did. From our point of view he had his own agenda. Put on chart "fever of unknown origin" yet when the fever returned to normal it was never changed on my records. Brought in doctors from the woodwork and the testing began. He shows no compassion for the patient, does not listen and regardless of what you say he tries to rule with an iron hand. He needs to learn that patients are humans and not guinea pigs presented to him for practice or research. This was the worst nightmare I have ever had in a hospital. If Tony Lee walks in your room ask for another doctor, nothing good can come from him being in charge of your care.
