Dr. Torang Shatzmiller Sepah, MD

I was a patient of Dr. Torang Sepah for over two years, and this has been one of the most frustrating healthcare experiences I’ve ever had. She is consistently over an hour late, even after asking me to come in early, and her staff repeatedly says “15 more minutes” when it’s never true. I’ve contacted her office over 10 times since Oct 24 asking for instructions to safely taper off my medication—each time Dr. Schatz-Miller answers, says “uh-huh,” promises Dr. Sepah will call, and she never does. She prioritizes hospital patients over those in her own practice, refuses to address my ongoing concerns, and has left me with severe anxiety and no care plan. Her husband (a neurologist, not a psychiatrist) also gives patient instructions. This office is disorganized, negligent, and unprofessional—avoid at all costs.

I like Dr Sepah because she is thorough when you have appointments with her she takes her time with each and every patient. I really like that about her. I have positive things to say about Dr Sepah shes a excellent doctor.

Doctor Sepah is a very good very nice smart and intelligent doctor she knows her stuff. I think she’s a Blessed Doctor she cares for people like you and me. Now me and my son see her she’d help him so much I don’t know how to thank her. Anyway “keep up the Good work Doctor Sepah you got this”

I’m a current patient of Dr. Sepah and although she’s very rounded and comprehensive as a doctor. she can be very dismissive and inconsistent and talks a lot about herself. She’ll leave the room during my appointment often and once I even heard her yelling about something random to her staff DURING my visit. then she came back and said something a random excuse and then rushed through the rest of my appointment. So unprofessional!!!!

Dr. Sepah is so thorough and compassionate. She is truly an amazing physician. My experience with TMS has been so positive, and I am truly grateful. Before I went to Dr. Sepah, I went to Socal-TMS and it was HORRIBLE. Dr. Sepah's staff are the most kind, understanding and patient people, and I truly am in a different place because of her.

Dr. Torang Sepah is an extremely knowledgeable, professional and compassionate physician. I came to her practice after my current psychiatrist retired. Her attention to detail and her insight into treatments and medicines is very impressive. She uses existing studies/data to support her work and her recommendations for treatment. Her staff is extremely organized and professional and promptly returned any of my calls/emails. The office is also set up very nicely and is a comfortable place to be. I would recommend her for any psychiatric needs you may have.

NEW PATIENTS with TRD: Avoid completely. She might be a miracle doctor with her current clients, but she doesn't treat incoming patience with an ounce of empathy. I'm weeks-long into their courting process, and can tell you: 1) You tell them your insurance referenced you, they confirm. They tell you they offer hard-to-find treatments for TRD (spravato, tms), ask you to fill out forms. Assure you that they have availability, although you might be placed on a waitlist (the amount of time isn't specified at this point.) 2) They say they'll get back to you within a week of you filling out your forms-- in actuality-- it takes weeks. They blame this on their "waitlist" and "backlog" because "Dr.Sepal has a back to back schedule." Don't put yourself out as available if you have a back-to-back schede. 3) After all this, they wait until the "close" of their pitch to tell you that THEY DO NOT TAKE INSURANCE for these treatments. ---->You'll have to pay out of pocket, up front/lumpsum<---- In… conclusion: she's likely not available, even though her receptionist (!) will tell you that she is. Tells you to go on waitlist for an indefinite amount of time. Doesn't tell you you'll have to pay upfront until she's about to close the deal. AVOID.

Dr. Sepah is an outstanding neuropsychiatrist! I have been a patient for over 3 years and she has helped me immensely. She is an expert in her field and even offers TMS. She is always available, understanding and shows great compassion for me and all of her patients. If you need a mental health provider, stop looking. Dr. Sepah is the very best!

Dr. Sepah was very kind, understanding, and knew exactly what was ailing me. She put me on the right treatment that I needed and helped me immensely.

My son was diagnosed with severe anxiety and OCD 5 years ago and has been treated with medications for it thus far but this only provided some improvement. Hence, TMS was recommended for my son (now 22) to treat his OCD. My son also has agoraphobia, so leaving the house for anything is a challenge. Dr. Sepah and her team are very experienced in dealing with OCD patients and very patient to make my son feel comfortable when providing the TMS treatments. In the treatment rooms Dr. Sepah provides youtube on the TV monitor that helps reduce my son's anxiety level in new places. I am so grateful to Dr Sepah and her team for caring for my son and he has done wonderful and has significant improvement with this treatment. I wish I had found Dr. Sepah years ago.
