Dr. Toufan Razi, MD

I just fired him today. I have well documented injury to back and hip and was experiencing extreme pain more than usual. I called to be seen ahead of my monthly visit because the herniated disk in my back was way more painful than usual. He was kind enough to see me but did nothing to address by increasing pain but give me an injection of an anti inflammatory drug that did nothing for my pain and then had me pee in a cup. I don't even drink or smoke and found this to be humiliating He did not react when I told him my regular medication was not helping. I hope one day he experiences severe pain that is casually brushed off and left untreated. He is uncaring and unqualified to deal with the complexities of pain and should seek another profession that doesn't require him to deal with people.

As far as I know Dr. Razi may be a good doctor, but his office staff and office procedures are very unprofessional.My husband and I showed up at the surgery center at 8:30 am to be told by the front desk that all of Dr. Razi's procedures had been canceled for the day since he had food poisoning.I can understand food poisoning, but come on- you didn't just get it at 8:30 am. Why wasn't there a phone call from his staff earlier in the morning to let us know?My husband used a personal day from work, we found a babysitter who rearranged her schedule. If we were the ones who had been no shows, his office would have charged us!Furthermore, it has been 3 work days since this occurred and there has still been no phone call from his office to apologize or reschedule.He must have enough business so he doesn't need mine.

Would love to see an service available to contact doctor in the event of a sudden change of events/and or problem. To date, there doesn't seem to way to contact him after hours. Is this normal practice for a doctor?Other then this concern, he seems to really care about his patients when they are in his office.

I have been seeing Dr. Razi for 3 Months now and my experience has been positive. Office Staff is awesome. I have never had a problem getting a quick appointment. I think the last two visits he has seen me early upon my early arrival. He listens and has a caring attitude toward my pain and problems I am having. He went out of his way to help me with a problem that was outside his specialty and made me feel like he was truly interested in my well being. I had been seen by another Pain Dr in San Leandro and after that experience Dr. Razi is a breath of fresh air. I would highly reccomend Dr. Razi to any one in need of a Pain Dr.

I saw him, he listened but really was not listening and I am a professional pain patient so I know. He wanted to do injections and when asked to refill Medications he was very uncomfortable.

As a patient who has been through multiple surgeries it was a relief to be with someone who is attentive, compassionate, knowledgable and really listens to your concerns. A real gem.
