Dr. Toufik Philip Farkouh, MD

I have been seeing Dr Farkouh for approximately two years. At first I thought he was very rude and abrupt. Then he seemed to change and was quite nice, but then he spent 30 minutes trying to convince me to give him a 5 star review.Ice had the same negative experiences that many other patients have had. I no longer see him even though I need a doctor but I don’t need him.

First of all I am writing this based on my parents sad experience with this doctor. My dad 80 years old took my mom 74 (who has a memory impairment) to see this doctor. When entering the exam room my dad chose to stand next to my mom. The doctor abruptly told dad "SIT DOWN", dad said he wanted to stretch his legs, standing was fine. Doctor then got louder saying "NO, SIT DOWN", this happened 3 times until dad finally sat down per his demanding order. When reviewing moms med list dad was helping mom remember meds and was told "YOU--DONT TALK". Mind you mom has impaired memory. When dad or mom said "to much" he would say--"I DONT NEED TO KNOW THAT". After asking what lab was used for blood work dad replied MVHC. MD abruplty says "NO, YOU WONT USE THEM, YOU WILL USE LAB CORR". His rude demeanor continued though out the visit. My mom and dad both felt belittled for the whole visit. Belittled enough that this story was relayed to me. They will not be returning to this doctor.

I felt coerced and forced to give him a good review. I felt very uncomfortable, threatened and bullied just to give him an online google review. He cared more about me writing ‘an excellent review’ instead of helping me. He is a germaphobe and you are not allowed to ask him questions. This is the truth about this desperate, sick, individual. My advice, get patient reviews the old fashion way, earn it!

I have been seeing Dr. Farkouh for over 20 years and greatly trust his knowledge and skill. He has always cared about my health and monitored my medical concerns. Once he did a procedure for me in his office which required 100% precision and focus, and I did not even need anything for pain. Everything healed well, and I was very impressed. He is a very capable and fine endocrinologist.

Dr Farkouh has treated both my huband and myself for nearly ten years. He has his own routine for managing patient visits in order to make sure nothing gets missed. Het hen asks about any change in symptoms and anything that has changed since your last visit then he is ready to listen to quetions and answers your questions completely or tells you he will get back to you. He does not treat you with anything but the utmost respect. At one point I required 16 biopsies in my thyroid gland and he did them with such skill and care that I felt a sense of confidence that he would find whatever he needed to find. Once he had completed his diagnostic tests he referred me to the surgeon who took me through the next steps and ultimately sent me to Syracuse for radioactive Iodine. He has followed me since that first meeting to the present, adjusting and implementing where indicated. He has the background and experience to handle anything I need. I trust him completely. and am… willing to drive from Westchester to Utica because of that trust.

Dr. Farkouh is an Excellent doctor! He takes the time to answer all your questions.
