Dr. Toussaint Maceo Streat, MD

O.k doctor didn't spend a lot of time diagnosing me.

Picked up on heart failure conditions previously missed by another doctor. Dr Street got me on the right track with cardiology.

I have seen Dr. Streat since 1990's. I have had GREAT care by him. The only bad thing about his the wait time.

He may have just had a really busy day on my appointment day but I waited about an hour to even get into a room and then about another 30 min for Dr. Streat to even see me. My appointment was also in the morning making me wonder how he got so behind that early. When he did finally get to my room, he asked for my chief complaint, a few questions, and did a very brief exam. I do think he was very kind and friendly but as a doctor, he didn't meet my expectations of patient centered care and didn't give me the opportunity to talk more about my symptoms since he was rushed.He then sent me on my way to do some tests and I didn't see him again before he decided to prescribe about 100 dollars worth of medication without adequate explanation. I had to come back and ask one of his nurses about them. I was also signed up to have another test later on and was told I should hear back about my results by the end of the week from Dr. Streat. It took him about 2 and a half weeks to respond with those… results after I had to call and ask for them myself. The results indicated that his original diagnosis was not correct. Seeing as I still have symptoms, I will likely need to see somebody else for a second opinion now. I may have very high expectations as to what I think is adequate care but he wasn't even near meeting those during my encounters. He may still be a great doctor to others especially if he's gotten to know you over time but given these two encounters I've personally had, I don't know if he's fit for what I want as a physician.

Dr. Streat is one of the best physicians I have ever met and who has ever worked with my health. He is a great man and a great physician.
