Dr. Tracey Lee Martin

I hadn't seen a doctor since I was a teenager, so it had been 7 years. I finally had insurance, so I was able to finally get back into a routine with a primary care. My husband had seen Dr. Martin, and he recommended her to me. First visit with her, I mentioned my year and a half struggle with infertility. I know this is out of her realm as a primary care, but after not seeing a doctor in so long, I knew the reason for infertility could have been anything and I thought she would be a good place to start. With the new patient paperwork, I had given my extensive family health history, which included my severe anxiety, as well as all my grandparents and my father with diabetes! While she was asking questions trying to interrogate me for the reason for infertility, I got anxious and was tearing up, but still pushing through to answer to her. She stopped abruptly to ask what I was crying about (probably the anxiety mixed with a very sensitive subject???) She didn't seem at all concerned,… more annoyed with me than anything. She sent me for bloodwork and an ultrasound, and hundreds of dollars and 2 months of wasted time later, she told me everything looked normal. She said she had an idea of something that might help and got my pharmacy information without telling me a single thing about what she was prescribing me. I later found out that it was IBS medication, although I knew for sure I didn't have that condition, nor did she mention the possibility of that condition. When trying to figure out my next step in my infertility journey, I asked where to go next, because again, I hadn't seen a doctor in 7 years and I was clueless as to what I was doing. She wrote down a couple places on a scrap piece of paper with very little context, and told me to just Google them. The fertility clinic she wrote down wasn't accepting new patients at the time, and so I thought if it was general health related, I could just go see a gyno to figure it all out. I went off and found one on my own because I didn't trust her recommendations at this point. I finally found a very kind, sweet, understanding woman who answered any questions I had with no judgment and lots of compassion. Things came back normal down there, and so she gave me a legitimate referral to a top rated fertility clinic. I'm not sure why my primary care couldn't give me more than a scrap piece of paper to Google as a referral. Now here we are 6 months, 2 IUI cycles, and thousands of dollars later, and I am finding out from my bloodwork with my infertility doctor that I actually have insulin levels that are double what they should be at. He said that is the root of my infertility. So bottom line, Dr. Martin was aware of my family history with diabetes, and was aware of my infertility, but she was not knowledgeable enough to connect the dots with legitimate health conditions that cause infertility. She didn't seem like she wanted to deal with me, just wanted to get me out of her hair. And after reading all the bad comments about her now, I feel like she just needs to retire or move on to a new profession where she isn't wasting people's time and money. And I am very glad I did my own research and chose to not take the IBS medication she gave me, as it turns out it seriously lowers your blood sugar levels, and with my over the top insulin levels, things could have gone very bad for me if I had taken those pills.

I've been going to Dr Tracey L Martin for years. I thought it was just me who might have thought she was odd. Every exam she made me feel weird and uncomfortable. Reading these reviews, I now know it wasn't me. She makes you feel like she is only there for the money. You are just a case to her. She wants you in and out of that office as quickly as possible. Once she comes into the room she hardly looks at you. She asks a series of questions off her laptop then rushes you through to get everything done. No empathy, no questions of concern, no what does the patient feel or think. I've never seen any doctor act like her, it's like your speaking to a robot who is just in one mode. I never understood it. When I would begin to check out, she would just stand at the desk and watch me walk down the hall. No words. Not okay take care, hope you feel better, make sure to follow up with me, bye... nothing. She told me right off the bat she doesn't recommend any type of weight loss or cosmetic… surgeries, although I was in need of them for health purposes. She's like a cold person. I would not recommend her to anyone. She should really consider becoming some other type of doctor that does not have to have too much interaction with people because her character is not suited to be a primary doctor. I've changed doctors and was able to get the surgeries and proper medical attention I needed to help me live a healthy lifestyle. Dr Tracey L Martin you really need to change your attitude toward people or consider changing professions. I say that with love and respect.

Dr. Martin took her time with me and was very professional and efficient. She was thorough and answered all my questions. I highly recommend her.

My husband and I have seen her for over 10 years. She is on time and spends time with you. She answers all questions and doesn't rush you.

Dr. Martin doesn't listen nor cares about your past medical history. It is her way or no service. Prescriptions I've taken for years to manage my illness is not "prescribe" by her as "she doesn't believe" in them. How can she treat me if she doesn't know where I came from and how I'm managing. When asked questions, you are dismissed? Decided to find a doctor that cares enough to listen.

The skinny: Either Easy Valley Primary Care Physicians office is overburdening her with too many patients or she can't handle a normal doctor schedule. The office seems very professional, but it also felt quite like a "McDoctor office", more concerned with profiting via image rather than medical effectiveness. Every visit I had with Tracey she always rushed through it at a pace markedly faster than any other primary care doctor I've ever had. And many times it was obvious she hadn't reviewed any notes about my history or my previous visits, except on quick turnaround follow-up visits. I had to re-explain my case to her many times. Seemed too preoccupied to be an effective doctor. Low empathy, but also low effectiveness. Probably OK if you come in with a bruise, scratch or cold, but I'd recommend you stay away if you actually have more than semi-serious medical issues. Ended up giving up on her as a primary care doc. Much happier with the new one, who is much more effective,… asks more questions/answers my questions; and seems to actually care about helping my health.

Dr. Tracey Martin is rude and acts like any concern I have is an utter waste of time. I dismissed my undiagnosed condition as stress and nothing else. I have since found a competent and less condescending doctor and gone through the necessary surgeries I needed. She did not help and in fact impeded my medical needs and would never recommend her to anyone, with any malady.
