Summary

Hi, my name is Tracey, and I'm a double board-certified psychiatric and family nurse practitioner serving clients in Alaska. I specialize in LGBTQIA+, gender, and sexuality topics, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), trauma, ADHD, bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, religion and spirituality, sexual health and dysfunction, seasonal affective disorder (SAD), and stress management. I’ve been in nursing for over 19 years and completed my master’s and psychiatric training at the University of Alaska. I’m passionate about destigmatizing mental healthcare, and together with my colleagues at Lavender Psychiatry, I’m on a mission to create a world where feelings are felt, respected, and cared for.

My therapeutic style is characterized by warmth, engagement, and a genuine personal connection. I believe in establishing a strong, collaborative relationship with each client, where we work together to make informed decisions about their treatment. I chose to be a psych NP because I believe mental health is foundational to every aspect of well-being. Throughout my nursing career, I saw how often emotional suffering went unseen or untreated, even when it was at the core of a person’s challenges. Becoming a psych NP allowed me to combine the science of medicine with the art of human connection, to listen deeply, treat holistically, and help people reclaim stability, meaning, and hope in their lives.

My practice is inclusive and welcoming, embracing diversity in culture, background, and experience. I have worked with a wide range of clients, including students, parents, professionals from various fields, skilled tradespeople, service industry workers, retail employees, entrepreneurs, artists, and technology experts. I am committed to providing a safe and supportive space where each individual feels heard, understood, and empowered to achieve their therapeutic goals. Starting treatment can be a scary and intimidating process. I’ve successfully treated many people who are new to psychiatric care.
