Dr. Tracy Patel

She is extremely knowledgeable. She is very much caring. She provided all the information. Never seen any doctor this much knowledgeable.

My son has been going to Dr. Patel for bout 2 years now as she is monitoring him closing regarding his growth (he is 11 years old now). My son actually looks forward to going to his appointments because Dr. Patel always make him feel very comfortable. She always talks to him directly before talking to me (mom), which I appreciate so he knows what is going on and has a voice that he knows is being listened to by Dr. Patel. Awesome Doctor!

My daughter has Type 1 diabetes and we have been with Texas Children's Hospital since she was diagnosed 7 years ago. We've had our ups and downs with her , so when the hospital in Katy opened we were hesitant to change docs. Turned out to be a great change- Dr. Patel is great! Over the past 2 years she has taught my daughter to become more responsible for her diabetes and hate being a diabetic just a little less. My daughter used to hate her appointments because she felt she was under scrutiny but Dr. Patel does not make her feel that way. She always asks about her life and school and cares about her, not just her diabetes. it's a small thing but makes a big difference to her. She gives her advice on balancing being responsible with diabetes and enjoying life. If you have a teenager with diabetes, Dr. Patel is the one to go to!

I read the above review and could not help but write my own because our family's experience was so different. We waited 3 months for an appointment with Dr. Patel, but the wait was worth it! My daughter is showing signs of early puberty and we were referred to Dr. Patel. From the minute she walked into the room she put our daughter at ease. She sat down and explained to my daughter why she was there, something my husband and I did not know how to do. She assured my daughter that puberty was normal, explained how it meant her body was changing and growing up, and that everyone goes through it, but she was only there in the clinic because it had started a little early for her. I've never heard puberty explained so nicely and simply, and it made my daughter feel so much comfortable. She was patient and thorough in explaining everything and answering not only our questions, but asking my daughter if she had any questions. My daughter loved her and looks forward to seeing Dr. Patel… and digging through the clinic's treasure chest at the end of her visit. We feel blessed to have found such a compassionate, detail oriented and wonderful doctor for our daughter!

This was the worst experience I have ever had with a physician. She did not even look at my son or acknowledge him in any way for the first 5 mintues of the visit. She didn't sit down but instead stood typing at her computer. I know she is new out of training but empathy and respect for patients is not something you learn. It needs to be there all along. Do not take your child to this physician. You can do better. Even if it means driving into the medical center. IT's worth it. She is horrible.
