Dr. Travis Mcfarlane Cotton, MD

Dr. Travis Cotton is an excellent and highly skilled Endocrinologist and Surgeon and I could not have had a better surgeon than Dr. Cotton!! His knowledge and expertise will provide you with the best possible guidance and treatment of your condition, and he possesses every quality that every patient would ever seek when looking for the best Endocrinologist and Surgeon. I was amazed that after he had performed my right thyroid lobectomy, the scar is barely visible, and the post surgery was pain free, other than a minor sore throat that lasted not even a day, which attests to his skill. In addition to that, Dr. Cotton saved my right parathyroid gland by transplanting it to my left thyroid gland. I would highly recommend Dr. Travis Cotton to anyone who is in need of the best Endocrinologist and Surgeon in the State of RI or any other state for that matter. He is wonderful and I cannot praise him enough!

Dr. Cotton is just wonderful all the way around. I had to have my right thyroid gland removed. The procedure was thoroughly explained and everything went off without a hitch. It's even hard to tell I had the surgery; the scarring is minimal at best. Dr. Cotton is very pleasant and doesn't make you feel like you're just another number. He listens. His staff is wonderful as well. A shoutout to Julie the secretary and Nicole Demir, NP. Dr. Cotton doesn't know it yet but, if I need anything else removed, I'm asking him to do it.

Just an overall excellent experience from first visit, through surgery, and follow up. An amazing, attentive, compassionate, highly skilled surgeon who thoroughly explained all treatment options and procedures. RI is lucky to have a physician of Dr Cotton’s caliber. Both his office staff in East Greenwich and Julie in Providence were superb - just “icing on the cake”.

I met with Dr. Travis Cotton three times before thyroid surgery; I'm not the calmest prepatient. His bedside manner displayed confidence, yet at the same time was very reassuring. He was patient with me, answered all of my questions, more than once, and I immediately had trust in my surgeon as did my husband. Upon our initial meeting he greeted me with, "You are here because you need surgery." My retort of "I am here to interview you for my surgery as I need to feel I am in good hands." He chuckled and thought that was a great response and was not at all insulted; I knew then, he was the one for me. Dr. Cotton presents the information in a matter of fact manner, yet, in layman's terms. His entire staff is outstanding, from his intern, Connie, who followed me from one appointment to surgery and post op, her radiant smile, just made me smile! And lest, I forget Dr. Cotton's 'right hand', Julie! She was right on top of things from scheduling to the doctor's notes I needed… and was kind to me as she knew how neverous I was! Lastly, I am not someone who would elect to have any surgery, but I would wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Travis Cotton and his staff to anyone who needs an excellent surgeon!

Dr. Cotton has taken great care of me during very stressful times with thyroid cancer. He is compassionate, thorough, knowledgeable, patient, careful, and uses the most up to date surgical techniques. He has performed 2 surgeries on me- both of which went perfectly with easy recovery and no complications. We are lucky to have such a great endocrine surgeon here in Rhode Island- no need to go to Boston for the greatest care! He’s truly a life saver!

Dr. Cotton performed thyroid biopsies last September and I found Dr. Cotton to be very kind, with much knowledge and skill.I recovered quickly and well.I'm glad I found this wonderful doctor. I recommend Dr. Cotton to all.
