Dr. Travis Allen Eugene Schildt, MD

I have been going to Dr Schildt for years. He is the best. He tells you like it is, he doesn't lie to you . He makes you feel very comfortable & treats you like your a human being. He has always listened to me about anything I have to say. He is very friendly, will joke with you & put you at ease. I don't EVER want another doctor.

I started seeing Dr. Travis Schildt, Family Medicine of Martinsburg PLLC, a little over a year ago. I typically had to visit him at the end of the day due to not missing work. I was usually his last patient of the day and he was always in a hurry. I was having major pain in my legs that extended into my arms. A very scary situation. I was actually losing feeling in both legs and arms but with very painful episodes in between. He told me while he was hurriedly typing that he didn't want to hear anything about my arms until we got my legs taken care of. He said 1 thing at a time! Well, I could not wait a month for the Cat-Scan and ended up in the ER. I am so glad that I did. I have a neurological problem in my neck and back that was causing me severe pain in both arms and legs. Requiring surgery. I had complained of this leg pain during several visits. He never contacted me when he received the severe Cat-Scan results. Prior to this incident, He sent me to get a nerve test… that came back with no issues and without seeing me again just called in a prescription for restless leg syndrome. Which I did not take. I knew my problem was not that! Another incident in which I was having severe abdominal pain and I went to the ER a couple of times. Tests came back with a possible issue with my pancreas. He did not call me for a follow up once the results were received. When I went in for a normal follow up appointment, I asked about those test results and the issue with my pancreas and if it was something that I should be worried about. He said you are not losing weight so I don't think it is anything to worry about! What exactly does that mean?!?! That if it were cancer and I was losing weight and probably dying then we would look into it?!?! I am writing this review to save others from dealing with what I feel is an uncaring, uneducated and inexperienced approach. Our health is so very important and a vital part of our lives. Medical issues can be so stressful. Best of luck on your journey for a knowledgeable and caring doctor.

I have been several times and I would recommend Dr. Schildt to anyone. He was eager to help me out with a few medical conditions and even referred me to a Hopkins doctor in my system to assist. He is country smart and city wise, so those who think they can pull a fast one on him to get the meds they want should seek medical attention somewhere else.

After reading the negative comments regarding Dr. Schildt I was not sure that the contributors were talking about the same physician whose office is located in Martinsburg. I find DS to be extremely knowledgeable, equally professional, and caring. Together with his staff he instills a strong sense of security within his patients. The time he devotes to his patients is determined by need rather than the clock. His bedside manner is reminiscent of the "old time" family doctors. The citizens of the panhandle are fortunate to have him.

Hes a great doctor as well as his staff. Hes very thorough. I highly recommend him to anyone at any age.

I transferred to Dr. Schildt when my physician retired as of the end of 2016. He is very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. He takes the time to explain my care in terms that are easy to understand. I had thought that it would be difficult to go to a new doctor since I had been going to my previous physician for over 30 years. However Dr. Schildt made the transition very easy and I am very confident in the quality of care that I have received from him.

started calling at 8:30 am got ignored all day long ; until 4:30 pm and then told a prescription was called in and guess what Lied to again. Curses and swears right in front of not only me being a man but in front of my wife too. Will be finding a new Dr. Wouldn't recommend to anybody; very unprofessional.

Dr,. Schildt does not bother with patient history, nor does he care what is best for the individual. He treats patients like everyone is alike, and if you disagree with him, he is verbally nasty and abusive. He has no idea how to handle a patient that is not a common, text book case and apparently practices cookie cutter medicine. Wouldn't recommend him to anyone.

i just love this dr., he is stright to the point and makes me feel like someone cares.

Schildt wasn't honest with me and I no longer trust him. He refused to follow up when he said that he would... twice! I believe that he does not truly give a hoot about patient health and care. He just goes through the motions of a doctor, but I felt like I am only a billing opportunity. As far as my health, I am personally convinced that he could care less.I think that only money is king in his view.
