Dr. Trent King Gunnell

Trent has always enjoyed his work with the pediatric population. In May 2025, he relocated to the St. George area from his beloved Idaho for the opportunity to help children overcome their communication challenges with an emphasis in promoting the parent-child interaction. He has a fun, interactive style and works to bring out each parent’s inner child to recognize their potential in helping their child communicate.  Trent is skilled in a variety of areas including language, articulation, stuttering, and social/pragmatic language. He looks forward to expanding his knowledge and abilities with the team here in St. George.
Trent received his undergraduate degree in Communicative Disorders from Utah State University in 1996, followed by his master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology in 1998. His interest in understanding the workings of the healthcare system led to pursuing an additional graduate degree in Healthcare Administration at Weber State University, which he …received in 2009. 
Over his career, Trent has provided a variety of services to patients of all ages. He is experienced in small acute hospital care, home health, private clinic treatment and (his favorite) outpatient pediatric services. 
Outside of work, Trent loves spending time with his wonderful family. He and his wife Brenda have four amazing sons, two talented daughters-in-law, and three adorable grandchildren. In his free time, Trent enjoys sports and being outdoors.
