Dr. Trent Smith

Disorganized and no answers to questions. When I needed meds that my insurance didn't want to pay for he just gave up and didn't want to help. His PA was terrible and when I mentioned it to him so he knew he didn't like that. I was in on a Monday then had an issue with the meds and they wanted me to come back the next day for an appt. For what...I was just there? . Nothing done and wasted time and money. It was only about appointments and copays. I didn't have a good experience at all

Dr. Smith refused to look any further than Rheumatoid Arthritis, even after my strange lab results and pleading with them that maybe something else is going on. I got very frustrated with his PA. I gave Dr. Smith 7 months to help me. Then I knew I had to somehow wiggle my way into Mayo. My dermatologist, Dr. Margaret Kessler is the one who wanted to do the skin biopsy on my finger because she suspected Dermatomyocitis. Even after the positive result came back, Dr. Smith would not acknowledge the result. He never contacted me or proceed to investigate further.   I confronted him and told him why I was leaving him to go to Mayo. Then he started back paddling and all of a sudden began to show concern. It was too late by then. His PA sternly told me I did not have Dermatomyocitis and I only had Rheumatoid Arthritis. She accused me of screaming at her. (This did not happen, I had witnesses in there). The office does not return phone calls. It was always very difficult to see Dr. Smith.

The stress of getting him to submit refill paperwork for medication he prescribed and is not worth the agony

I have an auto immune disease and have been told to stay home. I ran out of my medication that I take for this auto immune disease. Dr. Trent Smith is refusing to refill it unless I come in during the Coronavirus World Health Pandemic, and risk my life.

Staff lets things slip past them. They forget to do things needed for insurance and weren't caring about patients. If you voice any concern or ask questions they aren't happy. Don't return calls timely. Excessive wait for appointments and appointments always required for minor things.

Says accepting new patients and yet can't see you until March.

Always have to wait an hour or more to see him. He doesn't listen to anything I say or document it. The office staff is incompetent and never returns phone calls. Between Smith and office staff, I'm. treating myself.

Dr. Smith is a very knowledgable and caring Doctor. I can't rate him any better than five stars but if I could I'd rate him 6 or 7 stars!

I have been seeing Dr. Smith for almost five years and I think he is terrific, caring, competent, well informed. What I don't like is having to wait at least an hour, for a scheduled appointment, EVERY SINGLE TIME (for five years)...it's really inexcusable. The arrogance in thinking my time is not important, I booked all my appointments for first thing in the morning and he's still an hour late. Staff, when he worked at Higley, was incompetent!!! Hope it's better at the Phoenix Office. I would drop him like a hot cake for the wait time alone....if he weren't such a good doctor...I'll give him one more chance and then I'm moving on.

It's very hard for a patient to find a Dr. that they're comfortable with, who really listens to his patients, these days. I would follow this Dr. anywhere, even if I move from AZ. I would frequently return to his facility just to stay under his care. His wonderful disposition, and naturally caring heart won't allow him to rush through all of his patients... He is not just a Doctor, he is a true example of Human Kindness!!!
