Dr. Trevor Rabie, MD

Saw him for the first time. He was recommended by my insurance as a "transitional Care Center" with a whole team of staff/medical professionals to better treat/manage my condition and get it to a more stable point then send me back to the PCP. Over an hour wait. Within 2 minutes he said my fully documented physical problem I went to him for was NOT the issue and diagnosed my problem as mental - because I "looked it" though would not identify the physical characteristics that indicated such (he didnt have the time to explain it he said.) Though yrs of experience and research and he came across as confrontational.Insistent that I begin taking MH drugs to which i declined. He indicated if I were not going to follow his treatment plan then I'd be still searching for a Dr. Never got a chance to tell him what all had been tried - including Mental Health which, worsened the problem, and I have even been "rejected" by MH until this physical problem is handled and brought under control;… or that MH has told me do not under any circumstances allow anyone else to push it into the "mental" category with meds - that will only make it worse, and risk no recovery at all. My support persons' comment - he was rude, conceited, and trying to make you out to be dumb or stupid. I am glad I didnt go alone, and that she had to the good sense to record the visit after it started going south within moments of his walking into the exam room. He spent more than the avg 10 mins most doctors spent, which is why I waited the 2-3 mo process to see him. At this visit - he had NO tests, NO labs, NO previous records yet, nothing. But wanted to introduce harmful meds without being open to that being an error in treatment path. Taking his advice could very well lead to death or remove any recovery chances. I would not recommend him for anything other than his specialty of pulmonary concerns.
