Dr. Troy Allen Callender, MD

My husband was seen in his office. Dr. Callendar wanted to perform a scope which we agreed to. We paid our $70 copay and the fee for the scope before we left the office. It was over $250. That was fine. However, they billed it as a surgical consult instead of a regular specialist visit. This meant the could bill triple the amount. In doing so, it was no longer a copay, but a bill that goes to toward the deductible. They billed it incorrectly. I tried to reason with them numerous times. They were rude, demanding, and arrogant. Dr. Callendar was nice enough, but did not do anything at all to help my husband. He just told my us that the problems he is having is the way he was made. (Deviated septum) He offered no solutions even though the problem effects my husband's breathing and causes sleep apnea. We are having to go to another ENT to get done what we went to him to do. So, basically, it was a waste of time and money. I would not recommend this doctor.

We had to take our daughter in to see Dr. Callender due to chronic step throat infections and other issues with her nose. He made us feel very comfortable about what needed to be done. The day of her surgery he came and sat with us explained how things would be asked us I we had any questions, after surgery again he sat with us and answered all of our questions. We had an issue with the pain meds I left a message with his phone service and within minutes he called me back and called in new medicine with in minutes. The next day his nurse called checking on our daughter. We had an excellent experience and highly recommend Dr. Callender.

I am allergic to many pain medicines; he said I'd have to do without pain medicine after surgery, because he wouldn't prescribe anything else. Needless to say, I didn't do the surgery, even though I needed it. In addition, he snickered at who my PCP was. Does he not like him? Strange guy.

very professional as well as I had seen 5 doctor's in a week before him and none of them knew what was wrong with me... Dr. Callender did and gave me the prescriptions I needed as well as explained my condition and what to expect.... I would definitely go back to see him..!!
