Dr Houseworth is an impressive man. He is thoughtful, knowledgeable, skilled and empathetic. I would be hard pressed to find someone I would trust as much as him.

Good experience to say the least

I had bariatric surgery with him 4 years ago. He was very good at explaining the procedure beforehand. At the annual check ups he has always been good at listening and understanding what you are going through after surgery. Very compassionate and understanding along with skillful in the operating room. Highly recommended.

I had my gastric bypass surgery in May 2012. There were some complications that developed. I spent 3 weeks in the hospital. Dr. Houseworth and his team at St. Francis Hospital took excellent care of me. They made me feel special and that I was important. I have lost 100 lbs so far and would highly recommend Dr. Houseworth and his staff for his talent and compassion for your care! They truly have that special touch that is often lacking in the world today.

Because of his lack of caring, and his mistakes my mother ended up in the ICU on her death bed. He was careless and made horrible misstakes. DONT USE HIM!

He's a great guy, and obviously thinks laproscopy is the way to go, but the result of my surgery with him was an incisional hernia (he screwed up, and now I had to have another surgery to fix it). I ended up seeing a regular surgeon who left a bigger scar, but fixed the problem once and for all, and I wish I had just done that the first time.

in the beginning of my first visit, I found him to be abrupt, what I came to realize very soon into the appointment is he is a straight shooter, tells you like it is, not sugar coated. At the end of the appointment I thanked him for his honesty and not blowing over some of the not so fun stuff to hear. He is a breath of freshair compaired to most doctors that don't seem to care about you as much as getting you on the table for surgery. Dr Houseworth talks about all options and after I had further testing and went in to see him again, he had suggestions of the treatments he felt were best for me, my situration, my son, not just going under the knife!
